Julia Roberts may have won the hearts of 1990's audiences playing a hooker with a heart of gold rescued by a dashing millionaire, but the creators of the upcoming Pretty Woman musical know that that is one storyline that won't fly with modern audiences.

St. Joseph's Preparatory School in Philadelphia is one of four high schools chosen nationally to pilot Disney's school version of Newsies. Retreat to Broadway is hosting a Pre-Show Discussion and Q&A event with one of the stars of the Tony-Award winning Broadway production of Newsies, Tommy Bracco. Tommy also stars in the movie musical version of Newsies currently streaming on Netflix. The one hour discussion and question-and- answer-session starts at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 3 at St. Joseph's Prep. Immediately following the pre-show program is an optional photo op and meet & greet with Tommy. Gerard Canonico (Groundhog Day, American Idiot, Spring Awakening), Janet Krupin (Bring It On, If/Then) and On The Quays' cast of RENT will celebrate the release of Tom Rowan's RENT FAQ with a book signing and in-store performance at the Bookfair at Barnes & Noble on the Upper East Side (150 East 86th Street NYC), November 14 at 7:00 p.m. Barnes & Noble will contribute a percentage of all sales made in person or online with a special On the Quays voucher.

Joining Virginia's theatre community are luminaries Connie Britton (Nashville, American Horror Story), Mike Faist (Connor, Dear Evan Hansen), Tommy Bracco (Spot Conlon, Newsies), Tom Reynolds (Production Stage Manager, Disney's The Lion King), and Tony nominated costume designer Toni-Leslie James (Jitney, Come From Away).

On August 21st, cast members from the Broadway hit Newsies will reunite on the stage of Feinstein's/54 Below, for the forth year in a row. Audience members can expect to hear a variety of styles of music as well as stories and memories shared by the cast.

The Broadway in the Boros series concluded last night, July 31st, in the Bronx with a free outdoor screening of 'Disney's Newsies: The Broadway Musical!'.
