This summer, it is time to celebrate resilience as Flushing Town Hall continues its reopening since the pandemic first closed the doors of the cultural nonprofit in March 2020.

Denita Asberry brings charisma portrayed by a genuine legend to her performance as Aretha Franklin. The audience will be electrified with her uncanny look and powerful voice when she performs Aretha: Lessons of Love at The Nevada Room Piano Bar on July 3.

New York Theatre Barn will host the final installment of its free live streams of its award-winning New Works Series. Available on New York Theatre Barn’s YouTube channel and Broadway on Demand, the final installment of the live 1-hour series will include excerpts from two new musicals and a conversation with the writers and creative team.

The hit production of TINA – THE TINA TURNER MUSICAL will re-open at the Aldwych Theatre on 28 July 2021 following over a year of shutdown across the West End.

Circle Theatre will continue their 69th season with their 2nd Annual Circle Summer Fundraising Concert. On July 12th, at 7PM, Lisa Knight will be joined by Michelle Covington and Deb Alexander as they pay tribute to the ladies of soul.

Adrienne Warren (Tina in Tina: The Tina Turner Musical) and Miguel Cervantes (Alexander Hamilton in Hamilton) joined Bond 45 owner, Shelly Fireman in a ribbon cutting celebrating the reopening of Bond 45 and revitalization of Times Square.

Among the headliners coming to The Parker this season are: legendary musicians Lindsey Buckingham, Chris Botti, Keb' Mo', The Manhattan Transfer, Bruce Hornsby, a double bill of Los Lobos and Taj Mahal, and a triple bill of Janis Ian with Tom Chapin and Livingston Taylor; hilarious comics Bianca Del Rio, Paula Poundstone, Lewis Black and Patton Oswalt; tributes to music icons Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Journey and Led Zeppelin; Broadway stars Alan Cumming and Todrick Hall; and Seth Rudetsky's Broadway Concert Series featuring Stephanie J. Block, Santino Fontana and Laura Benanti. 

Injoy Fountain will take the stage, along with Jaslyn Alexander and Koko Blanton, in a concert at Roxy's Downtown this Saturday night, June 26, 2021, at 7pm. Injoy will be singing classic tunes by Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, Tina Turner, Whitney Houston, Gladys Knight, and Miley Cyrus, among others. Fountain's band includes Rich Bruhn on keyboards, Dale Black on bass, Jerome Porter on sax, and Corey Rolfe on drums.

A new play might be heading to the Circle in the Square Theatre! According to a new Telecharge listing, Chicken and Biscuits- billed as a feel-good comedy that will feed your soul- will begin previews on Broadway on September 23, 2021 and will open on October 10.

Het ensemble wordt aangevuld met: Rick McDonald (Phil Spector), Aïcha Gill (cover Zelma/cover GG), Marlon David Henry (Richard Bullock/ cover Ike), Melissa Kanza (swing), Desi van Kessel (swing/cover Zelma/cover GG), Velorisa Yorks (swing) en Andrew Anthonia (swing). Allen zijn reeds begonnen met repeteren en kunnen niet wachten om binnenkort het levensverhaal van Tina Turner voor het publiek te mogen spelen.
