BWW Review: Women Rising Triumphantly -- Choreography From The Female Perspective, Featuring Ten Dance Companies Led By Women At The Ford Theatre

Celebrating the centennial of the Nineteenth Amendment granting women the right to vote; assembled and produced by Deborah Brockus, artistic director of the annual Los Angeles Dance Festival. Deborah Brockus has assembled another TKO of a presentation.  This time at the aesthetically invigorating and lovely renovated Ford Theatre; originally entitled, prophetically first named, The PILGRIMAGE Theatre.  It was an enlivening evening from start to finish.  Ms. Brockus is a hands-on participant, besides organizing, directing, choreographing and publicizing and cheerleading all involved, she was there to greet the theatre goers and anyone coming to support and witness this celebration.  Take note of her tenacity and perseverance.  

HIRIE Announces North America Headline Fall Tour

Eclectic tropical-pop band HIRIE will embark on an extensive U.S. headline tour in the fall in support of their upcoming third album Dreamer, which will be released via Megaforce Records on September 13, 2019. The tour will take them through Orlando (Oct. 23), DC (Oct. 30), Brooklyn (Nov. 1), Detroit (Nov. 6), Seattle (Nov. 16), San Diego (Nov. 23), and more!

Creative Cauldron Announces Its 2019-20 Season

2019-20 Season marks Creative Cauldron's eleventh season of programming at ArtSpace Falls Church.  The diverse season offerings include live theater, concerts and cabarets. The season kicks off in October with the regional premiere of Disenchanted, a hilarious musical that takes a second look at the real world fates of fairytale princesses.  Madeline's Christmas returns once more to ring in the holiday season and Crowns, the inspirational gospel musical celebrating the resilient, hat-wearing sisters of the south, takes the stage in February.

Huntington Theatre Company Announces Cast And Creative Team Of ROSENCRANTZ & GUILDENSTERN ARE DEAD

Tom Stoppard's genre-bending comedy, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead comes to the Huntington Theatre Company helmed by Norma Jean Calderwood Artistic Director Peter DuBois. Performances begin September 20 at the Avenue of the Arts / Huntington Avenue Theatre (264 Huntington Avenue, Boston) and will run through October 20. Tickets are now on sale to the general public.

The Ghost of Paul Revere Announces Fall Tour

The Ghost of Paul Revere will be hitting the road this fall for a massive coast-to-coast tour. Following two previously announced dates supporting The Infamous Stringdusters, The Portland, Maine natives will be making their way through New England for a handful of dates in late September, including an appearance on WGBH's TV series Front Row Boston - Live At Fraser. October includes a series of stops down the east coast, where the band will be joined by Animal Years, and some notable festival appearances, including New Orleans' Voodoo Festival and Livingston's Moonshiner's Ball. Fall tour will then roll on westward, with stops in Colorado, throughout California and the Pacific Northwest, with support from Ezra Bell. Finally, they'll round out November with several appearances in the Midwest, concluding with Chicago's Lincoln Hall.

The Fountain Theatre, in association with East West Players, soundly mounts the California premiere of Jiehae Park's HANNAH AND THE DREAD GAZEBO with a solid acting ensemble, complemented by vividly effective video visuals. Jennifer Chang ably directs her talented cast of six as they weave through the realistic lives of a Korean family (separated by continents) interspersed with flashes of Korean folklore.

Boris Announces New Album Out This October

The next chapter in Japanese rock legends Boris' story has arrived; their new double LP LφVE & EVφL is set for release on October 4th via Third Man Records.  This double LP exists as two independent works, encapsulating conflicting connotations that interweave and become intricately entangled with one another, gradually eroding before becoming utterly singular. Continuing to tinker and toil with their sound since the 2017 release of DEAR, Boris have pivoted onward a more organic, non-grid literary style that LφVE & EVφL showcases.  The album's first single, “Love,” is one of the most musically diverse in their career and showcases a snippet of what is to come on  LφVE & EVφL.

TWIN XL To Support The Maine on Entire Fall Tour

Rising alt-pop trio TWIN XL announces today that they will be joining The Maine on the entirety of their 'The Mirror' Tour hitting 27 major markets nationwide this fall. The tour kicks off on October 21 in San Antonio, TX and wraps on November 30 in Phoenix, AZ and includes stops in New York City, Boston, Chicago, Seattle, and Portland.
