Renaissance Theaterworks (RTW) invites you to 1993, the year they were founded. RTW celebrates their thirtieth season with distinct 90s panache at their annual Raise a Glass to Renaissance fundraiser on Thursday, September 8, 5:30 p.m. at their new performance space at 255 S. Music is a great and powerful connector. There's nothing quite like hearing the palpable and electric connection between musicians in an inspired performance, or feeling an intrinsic connection to a song that causes your emotions to take flight.

Produced by Shooter Jennings (Brandi Carlile, Tanya Tucker) and recorded at Los Angeles’ Dave’s Room Studio, No Regular Dog is rooted in deep self-reflection and features Waldon’s most personal songwriting to date. With these eleven songs, including “Season’s Ending,” a tribute to Waldon’s mentor John Prine.

The band shared their song “Take Some Time” - a syncopated synth-heavy indie-rock song accompanied by an earworm chorus with a nasty bass line and sparkling guitar solos perfect for a top-down end of summer road trip. “Take Some Time” follows the release of “Don’t Say Goodnight Just Yet” which was released earlier this year.

You’ll want to know about the recently opened restaurant in town that is garnering attention from gourmands and people who love to dine in style. Isla, located at Hotel Hendricks on West 38th Street, is a sleek, modern Australian-style brasserie.

The play is loosely inspired by a true story, although the characters and situations are purely fictional. Playwright Deborah Brevoort uses the structure of Greek tragedy to tell this story of grieving and healing, powerlessness and control, joy and darkness.

Six middle schoolers vie for the glory of being the undisputed Spelling Bee Champion in the outrageous and fun musical comedy, THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, with book by Rachel Sheinkin and music and lyrics by William Finn.

Expect cross dressing, deceit, and general campy comedic hijinks.

Branden Jacobs-Jenkins popular comedy APPROPRIATE gets its first Greenville production on June 10th.  The dark, family comedy is being produced by The Warehouse Theatre after originally being scheduled during the initial pandemic shutdown.  

SolowFest has returned for a 12th year! June 17th-27th, 2022 will give the city 10 days of experimental and boundary-pushing performance.

The show opens with a Ghost Light center stage. As most shows of a Brechtian nature go, characters of nondescript fashion layout the evening events in the manner of Prologue. The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, or as it is subtitled “The Parable Play,” tells the story of the rise of Arturo Ui a fictional Chicago Mobster as he ruthlessly tries to control the Chicago vegetable market despite opposition. A political satire based on Adolf Hitler’s rise to power in Nazi Germany prior to the events of World War II.

Kelsey Waldon will embark on her nationwide “No Regular Dog Tour” this summer with newly confirmed shows at Brooklyn’s Knitting Factory, Philadelphia’s MilkBoy, Seattle’s Tractor Tavern, Portland’s Polaris Hall, Austin’s 3TEN ACL, Fort Worth’s Tulips FTW, Lexington’s The Burl, Los Angeles’ Hotel Café and Nashville’s Basement East.
