The Long Beach Playhouse is closing its 2012-2013 Mainstage Season with one of the longest-running Off-Broadway shows of all time, the quirky and much-loved musical LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, an affectionate spoof of 1950s sci-fi movies.
Auditions for 'Little Shop of Horrors' with book by Howard Ashman and music and lyrics by Alan Menken take place on Saturday, July 13 from 11am-4pm and Sunday, July 14 from 6-9pm, with callbacks on Monday, July 15 from 7-10pm.at the Westchester Playhouse, located at 8301 Hindry Avenue, Westchester, CA 90045. Production dates are September 13-October 19, 2013 for a six-week run on Fri/Sat at 8pm and Sunday at 2pm, directed by Michael-Anthony Nozzi.

Breaking Glass Pictures has announced the nationwide release of Silver Case, starring Oscar nominee Eric Roberts, Claire Falconer, Brian Keith Gamble, Chris Facey, Seymour Cassel, Shalim Ortiz, Vincent DePaul and Brad Light. The film premiered on broadcast VOD on April 15th, and is released today, May 21st on DVD. Silver Case is the debut feature of award-winning Italian director Christian Filippella.
Early on in Little Shop of Horrors, the crowd favorite musical now playing at the Sheldon Vexler Theatre, forlorn florist Seymour Krelborn begs his strange and interesting but dying new plant, dubbed the Audrey II, to bloom. The same pleas could be asked of the show. While bolstered by some talented and gifted performers, this production sadly remains a seedling that doesn't completely sprout.

With a new program of innovative and edgy repertoire, Rebeca Tomas will bring her A Palo Seco Flamenco Company back to Theatre 80 Saint Marks tonight, May 17 to 19 in a new production, 'Cinco Por Cinco.' Tomas, a fierce and feminine NY-based Flamenco artist, will direct her company of five dancers, two singers and three musicians in a show that promises to be true to her vision of upholding Flamenco's traditions while also pushing its boundaries and giving it a distinctive New York City feel.
Up2Us (up2us.org), a New York based not-for-profit organization, will be holding its inaugural gala dinner at Tribeca Rooftop in New York City on June 4. The event will benefit the organization's mission to advance sports as the solution to the obesity, youth violence and educational challenges facing America's youth today. Internationally acclaimed musician and composer Wynton Marsalis will present Kareem Abdul-Jabbar with the Legacy Award, recognizing the NBA hall of famer for his 20-plus years of contribution to sport, education, and humanitarian efforts. The evening will bring professional athletes, Hollywood celebrities and other VIPs together as they celebrate Up2Us' work. Some of the stars lending their support for this event include Sandra Bernhard (emcee), Kristin Davis, Laird Hamilton, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jonny Lee Miller, Sienna Miller, Gretchen Mol, Gabrielle Reece, Meg Ryan and Naomi Watts.

The Last Days of Judas Iscariot will be presented at Stage 773, 1225 West Belmont in Chicago, for 18 performances, August 23 - September 8, 2013. LAByrinth Theater Company, the award-winning, downtown ensemble, just announced its World Premiere production of A Family For All Occasions, written by Bob Glaudini and directed by Philip Seymour Hoffman, will extend performances. Originally scheduled to play its final performance on May 19, A Family For All Occasions will now close on Sunday, May 26th. The season will begin tonight, Monday, May 13 at 6:30 P.M. with the Company's Opening Night Gala, featuring a piece d'occasion choreographed by Marcelo Gomes, set to the second movement of Beethoven's Seventh Symphony and danced by Julie Kent and Roberto Bolle.
