Playing on the main stage at Cultural Arts Playhouse in Syosset this spring is the operatic, rock ‘n rock “Jesus Christ Superstar.”

Intrigue, angst and raw emotions run rampant in the dazzling new production of Ike Holter’s  EXIT STRATEGY now playing at Buffalo’s Road Less Traveled Theater. Against the gritty backdrop of a failing inner city Chicago High School, a staff of teachers and a lone student prepare for the demise and closure of an institution that holds lifetimes of stories and inner demons.

Duluth Playhouse Underground will present WHITE RABBIT RED RABBIT, a unique play with no rehearsals and a new actor each night, from February 19 to March 1 at The Lab.

The days when old fashioned musical comedies were drawn  from classic  love stories, silly high school antics and farces will always be tried and true. But more heady topics like mental illness, Alzheimers, race relations, big business, and corrupt governments also have found a place into the uniquely American canon of musicals. A ridiculously named musical, URINETOWN, is now playing at Shea's Smith Theatre, and the fine production by Second Generation Theatre not only entertains but provides much food for thought in this time of government unrest.

As in-depth, thrilling, and heart-breaking as Carole King’s legendary album, Tapestry, Cultural Performing Arts Center Syosset’s production of “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical” was a full ride of the human emotions that was embodied in the songs that defined American music for a generation.

Second Generation Theatre will kick off the 2025-2026 season with the musical satire URINETOWN.  URINETOWN takes place in a dystopian city where citizens must pay to use public toilets, and even the simple act of relieving oneself becomes “A Privilege to Pee.”

The Cultural Arts Playhouse in Syosset will present the Nassau County premiere of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical from September 20 through October 19, 2025. Performances will take place at the theatre’s home at 170 Michael Drive, Syosset, NY.

Sacred Heart Repertory Theatre Company will present Crapp's River, an unauthorized musical parody inspired by the beloved Canadian comedy Schitt’s Creek, as part of the 2025 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Performances run July 30 through August 12 at 20:20 at Gilded Balloon, Patter House – Blether.

LEGALLY BLONDE:THE MUSICAL has everyone shouting “Omigod You Guys” in true Valley-girl fashion as it takes to the Shea’s 710 Theatre stage. Presented in it’s new home, Musicalfare seems like to have found the perfect sized theatre  for all of it’s future productions.

LEGALLY BLONDE, produced by MusicalFare Theatre, is now running at Shea's 710 Theatre.  The production, which is part of the 2024-2025 Frey Electric Season, hits the stage for 12 performances.

LITTLE WOMEN, the musical based on the 1869 novel of the same name written by Louisa May Alcott, is currently running at CAP Merrick through April 27th. The production truly captures the heart and soul of the widely-celebrated source material.
