Disney+ has released a new teaser and poster for “Descendants: The Rise of Red,” the next installment in the mega-hit “Descendants” franchise that features the teenage progeny of iconic Disney heroes and villains.

China Anne McClain is returning as Uma for Descendants: The Rise of Red. Watch the first teaser video for the film. It also stars Brandy Norwood, Paolo Montalban, Morgan Dudley (“Jagged Little Pill” on Broadway), Rita Ora, Dara Reneé (Disney’s “High School Musical: The Musical: the Series”), and more.

Alex Boniello has joined the cast of the new Descendants movie musical on Disney+. The Spring Awakening and Dear Evan Hansen star will play Jack of Diamonds, the captain of the Queen of Hearts' Red Army. He joins the recently confirmed Paolo Montalban, who will reunite with his “Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella” co-star Brandy.

Montalban will portray King Charming, Cinderella’s (Brandy) husband and Chloe’s (Malia Baker) dad, who is as much in love with Cinderella as he ever was.  He previously played Prince Charming opposite Brandy’s Cinderella in Walt Disney Television’s iconic 1997 movie “Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella.”

Brandy Norwood will return to the role of Cinderella, which she first played in Disney’s 1997 “Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella,” in a new installment to the Descendants musical franchise on Disney+. She joins Rita Ora, China Anne McClain, Kylie Cantrall, Dara Reneé, and Morgan Dudley, who recently starred in 'Jagged Little Pill' on Broadway.

Disney Channel will present three special programming events for kids and families to kick-off the holiday season in December. 

Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD will celebrate Halloween with spooky and fun programming for kids and families, beginning FRIDAY, OCT. 2.

Harnessing the unifying power of music, Disney Channel is presenting a night of entertainment for kids and families with two music specials featuring a bevy of fan-favorite Disney Channel stars, past and present, along with celebrity guests and popular artists.

A series of new interstitial messages, from kids' favorite Disney Channel stars, designed to offer reassurance and a sense of community during the present global health crisis premieres FRIDAY, MARCH 27, on Disney Channel and Disney Channel YouTube. The series includes over 35 Disney Channel stars who each filmed their message from their homes and around their neighborhoods, sharing how they stay positive, active and, with the help of parents and family members, navigate through this uncertain time. The series is designed to demonstrate for viewers age 6-14 that they are not alone in this experience, and we are all in this together (#WAITT).

This holiday season, ABC and Disney Channel will transport the magic of Disney Parks and Disney Cruise Line during the holidays to viewers with three magical specials featuring star-studded performances, merry entertainment and more. During the specials, viewers will get exclusive looks at upcoming Disney Parks attractions, including Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, opening soon at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at both Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Resort in California. 

Hollywood Pantages Theatre presents the Los Angeles premiere of ANASTASIA from October 8 to October 27. The tour of the critically acclaimed Broadway production began performances in October 2018 at Proctors in Schenectady, NY before journeying to over 30 cities in its first year.

Today, Disney Channel announced the season two pickup of its live-action comedy series 'Coop & Cami Ask the World,' about the antics of middle-school siblings Coop and Cami Wrather, co-hosts of a popular online show Would You Wrather. Created and executive produced by Boyce Bugliari and Jamie McLaughlin, the series will resume production in the coming months, with season two scheduled to roll out later in 2019. Leading the ensemble cast are Dakota Lotus and Ruby Rose Turner as Coop and Cami Wrather, Olivia Sanabia as older sibling Charlotte, Albert Tsai as best friend Fred, Paxton Booth as younger brother Ollie and Rebecca Metz as their mother Jenna.
