Songwriters Under the Covers with Victoria Shaw puts the spotlight on the songwriters of some of music's biggest hits across pop, rock, and country.

Songwriters Under the Covers with Victoria Shaw puts the spotlight on the songwriters of some of music's biggest hits across pop, rock, and country.

For one night only, one woman will bring the top country female stars to the stage including Reba McEntire, Shania Twain, Patsy Cline, and Dolly Parton. Kelly Vohnn, country artist, songwriter, and tribute artist, will headline The Women in Me at the Green Valley Ranch Grand Events Center on Sept. 14.

Greenville favorite Edwin McCain and accomplished songwriter Maia Sharp return for the Peace Center's Songwriters Concert Series and Workshop Series. Each concert brings a new guest singer-songwriter to the Upstate for an intimate one-of-a-kind listening room experience in Genevieve's theater lounge at the Peace Center. The guest artists will also join McCain and Sharp for a four-part Workshop Series.

Don't miss this night of Broadway classics, standards and pop hits when Emmy and Tony Award-winning actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth takes the stage at The Ridgefield Playhouse's Fall Gala on Saturday, September 28 at 8pm. Chenoweth's career spans film, television, voiceover and stage. She received an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in a?oePushing Daisies,a?? won a Tony Award for You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown and was also nominated for her original role of Glinda the Good Witch in the Broadway smash-hit Wicked. Chenoweth will make her Playhouse debut the day after her new album, For the Girls, is scheduled for release. The Gala begins at 5:30pm in Yanity Gymm, which will be transformed into a beautiful party space, with dinner, open bar and silent auction (Gala ticket holders only) and continues in the theater with a live auction and Kristin Chenoweth performance at 8pm. This event is part of Northern Trust Broadway & Cabaret Series. Media partner for this event is WEBE 108.

The Country Music Association has announced the final nominees for a?oeThe 53rd Annual CMA Awards,a?? as Maren Morris tops the list of finalists with six nominations. Brothers Osborne receives four nominations, the second most nominations this year, while 11 garner three nominations eacha?"Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Dan + Shay, Scott Hendricks, Dann Huff, Greg Kurstin, Kacey Musgraves, Blake Shelton, Chris Stapleton and Carrie Underwood. For the night's highest honor, reigning Entertainer of the Year Keith Urban is nominated again in the category alongside Garth Brooks, Eric Church, Chris Stapleton and Underwood. 

 Final nominees for a?oeThe 53rd Annual CMA Awardsa?? will be revealed Wednesday, Aug. 28, with select categories announced live on ABC's a?oeGood Morning Americaa?? by Jimmie Allen and Ashley McBryde in the 8:00 AM hour (local time), followed by a performance of a?oeIf I Know Mea?? by Morgan Wallen. 

With exclusive access, Dolly's Country (w/t) comes to BBC Two this autumn as part of a season of programmes putting a spotlight on country music.

Variety reports that, after 11 years of Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood consistently hosting the Country Music Awards, ABC and the Country Music Association have decided to change things up. Underwood returns with Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire--Paisley departed the program.

The Country Music Association has announced Carrie Underwood will host a?oeThe 53rd Annual CMA Awardsa?? with special guest hosts and Country Music Hall of Fame members Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton, celebrating legendary women in Country Music throughout the ceremony. Country Music's Biggest Night broadcasts live from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 8/7c on the ABC Television Network. 

Jim Caruso's Cast Party will make it's Nashville debut on Saturday, September 7 at 8pm. The 'extreme open mic,' hosted by Caruso and accompanied by Billy Stritch, will take place at The Franklin Theatre (419 Main Street, Franklin, TN).

You can physically build a welcoming and attractive Cabaret Room (in this case Mr. Finn's at Barrington Stage). You can have a name on the door that represents important musical theater (William Finn). However it really doesn't have any greatness unless the music and artists that appear on it's stage are of the highest order.

Kristin Chenoweth has announced her new album, For The Girls, according to Billboard. The album will feature Ariana Grande,Dolly Parton, Jennifer Hudson and Reba McEntire to salute great female singers who have come before them.
