Bucks County Playhouse will stage its annual benefit gala as a starry online broadcast featuring special guest, Cyndi Lauper, on Saturday, October 24 at 7 pm. Entitled, 'Bucks County Playhouse - At Home 2020: A Gala Celebration,' the virtual event replicates the Playhouse's annual in-person celebration.

The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre - the monthly gathering of the International Order of Sodomites, the centuries-old organization which sets the mythic Gay Agenda - will return to Joe's Pubthis season for regular performances after a three year hiatus. The Meeting*, now the longest-running LGBTQ variety show in New York, is known for its audacious humor, trailblazing political discourse and button-pushing cultural exploration. Sayre will present two different evenings next month, celebrating 'The Ladies of Country' on Monday, March 2, and honoring 'The Ladies of Disco' on Sunday, March 29, both at 9:30 PM. Special guests for March 2 include Bridget Barkan, Melody Berger, Drew Droege, Larry Krone, and Bobby Blue the Balladeer, with additional names to be announced. Shows are scheduled through December 2020, with the spring season continuing on April 26 and May 31. Tracy Stark serves as music director for the series.

The award-winning series, Interested In, about queer dating after the closet, is coming back for Season 2!

Season One of Queen's English, an award-winning web comedy, is now available for streaming. 

Charles Dickens was a literary author we all encountered and studied in formal educational settings. Some may remember when his father was in imprisoned, Dickens knew that he needed to make a living wage and support himself, losing quality education himself. At the age of 15, he began working for an attorney and studied shorthand in the evening which lead to a job as a journalist launching his writing career. From there he wrote several short stories and novels like A Tale of Two Cities, A Christmas Carol and Oliver Twist, some becoming stage plays and musicals. His final and greatest novel ultimately turned musical, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, is a prime example of such a case. The show was presented by Guild Hall Players from August 1st through the 4th at St. James Episcopal Church.

The Valkyries written by Jessica Owens and directed by Blayze Teicher will be presented as part of The Tank's LadyFest, a festival featuring pieces written, directed, produced, acted, managed, and designed all by female or gender non-confirming artists. The festival is 'in celebration of womxnhood and the female voice, in all its glory.'

There's no doubt that dark times are ahead for the people of Berlin in this faithful recreation of the tawdry 1998 Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of CABARET. Using the original Broadway sets by Robert Brill and costumes by William Ivey Long, this Ogunquit Playhouse version, running now through August 10, is rough, tough and gritty, taking the implied decadence and hedonism of pre-World War II Germany and attaching it blatantly to every denizen of the speakeasy known as the Kit Kat Klub.

Doug Nevin and Michael Urie, in partnership with Rattlestick Playwrights Theater closed out the Pride Plays' festival of play readings commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, with a benefit reading of Terrence McNally's Some Men, helmed by Logan Reed, on June 24 at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater.

The Paley Center for Media today announced that it will honor the LGBTQ+ community, and the television series that broke barriers, shattered stereotypes, and brought audiences together at The Paley Honors: Tribute to LGBTQ+ Achievements in Television on the Occasion of the 50th Anniversary of Stonewall. This momentous occasion will take place at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in Midtown Manhattan on May 15, 2019, at 6:30 pm.
