The Royal Opera House is one week away from the start of its first full Season since 2019, opening its doors to the public every day from 12pm and premiering with The Royal Opera’s spectacular new production of Verdi’s Rigoletto on September 13 and, for The Royal Ballet, a sumptuous performance of Kenneth MacMillan’s much-loved production of Romeo and Juliet on 5 October.
Shubert Organization Fined Following Death of Stagehand at the Winter Garden Theatre

A stagehand, Peter Wright, died from his injuries after falling almost 50 feet from the fly floor above the stage at the Winter Garden Theatre. Since then, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) conducted an investigation into the circumstances of the accident and are now holding the Shubert Organization accountable.
David McAllister AM Awarded The Highest International Award For Dance 3

At a gala lunch held today attended by hundreds of ballet lovers, David McAllister AM, the immediate past Artistic Director of The Australian Ballet, was surprised when the event took a turn and became “David McAllister This Is Your Life”. The lunch entitled “Celebrating David McAllister AM with a little help from his Friends” was a joyous occasion with many surprise guests.

Birmingham Royal Ballet’s Nutcracker at The REP will be streamed live from The Birmingham Repertory Theatre this evening, Friday 18th December, from 7.30pm. This magical Christmas production will then be available to view as a video-on-demand recording from Saturday 19th to Thursday 24th December.

It’s December and Royal Ballet’s Nutcracker is back on stage, it’s almost like 2020 didn’t happen, and for two magical hours, that's how it will feel. Peter Wright’s beloved production has, of course, has the COVID treatment; choreography is amended to keep distance, some of the divertissements are cut and the party scene has been pruned of additional children but the magic moments are still very much intact. With the dancers of the company, eager to thrill a live audience for the first time since March (bar one-off galas), it makes for a deeply special occasion.
More Titles Added To Sarasota Opera's 'HD At The Opera House'

Sarasota Opera has announced additional presentations for the 2020 season of “HD at the Opera House.” Richard Strauss's Arabella from the 2014 Salzburg Easter Festival will be shown on Sunday, November 22; Verdi's Macbeth from the Royal Opera House in London will be shown on Sunday, December 6; and Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker ballet from the Royal Ballet in London will be shown on Sunday, December 20.
