On Wednesday evening, The Avett Brothers (Scott Avett, Seth Avett, and Bob Crawford) celebrated the opening of their new musical, Swept Away, running at Arena Stage’s Kreeger Theater at the Mead Center for American Theater in Washington, D.C. through January 14 after a thrice-extended run at Berkeley Repertory Theatre in early 2022. The Old Globe has announced that due to popular demand there will be a one-week extension for the Globe-commissioned world premiere of Crime and Punishment, A Comedy, written by Gordon Greenberg and Steve Rosen and directed by Greenberg. The production, which begins previews on July 15, is now extended through August 20, 2023 only.
