Amanda Kloots on Nick Cordero: 'His Lungs Have Been Severely Damaged'

His wife, fellow Broadway veteran Amanda Kloots, reported earlier this week that Nick was suffering from an infection in his lungs. Today she shared: 'Luckily, Nick's CT scans came back clear of internal bleeding, so that was a huge blessing. However, we learned that due to COVID, Nick's lungs are severely damaged,' she explains. 'There are holes in his lungs where you obviously don't want holes to be. I think the plan today is to do a scan with ink to light up his lungs and get a better picture of what's going on.'

Nick Cordero Battles Infection in His Lungs; Says Kloots: '[It] Came Out of Nowhere'

'We had a bit of a rough day [Monday]. Nick ended up getting an infection in his lungs that went into his blood, so he went into a little bit of a septic shock. The cause of that was some infection in his lungs. They went in and cleaned out his lungs and gave him some blood pressure medication,' she says. 'This kinda came out of nowhere after two days of really great progress.' Doctors intend to keep Nick on antibiotics for the next seven days.

Doctors Unable to Remove Nick Cordero's Ventilator Today as Planned

His wife, fellow Broadway veteran Amanda Kloots, shared today on Instagram that doctors were unable to remove Nick's ventilator today as planned. 'Earlier this morning he got a fever, which caused his blood pressure to drop slightly. So he is back on a little bit of blood pressure medication,' she says. 'They are going to set aside the ventilator removal until they get [the fever] under control.'

Amanda Kloots on Nick Cordero's Health Status: 'We're in a Waiting Game'

Prayers (and dancing!) continue for Nick Cordero, who remains in a coma in a Los Angeles hospital after surgeons amputated his right leg because of complications from the coronavirus. His wife, fellow Broadway veteran Amanda Kloots shared an update today on Instagram:

Amanda Kloots Reports 'Good Signs' from Nick Cordero's MRI

The Broadway community continues to pray for Nick Cordero, who remains in a medically induced coma in a Los Angeles hospital after surgeons amputated his right leg because of complications from the coronavirus. His wife, fellow Broadway veteran Amanda Kloots shared an update today on Instagram: 'We got a pretty good report back from the MRI. There doesn't look to be anything that is inflicting Nick from waking up, which is a really good sign. It wasn't completely clear, and we're still waiting to hear from the neurologist,' she says. 'He's off all blood pressure medicine, which is huge. And they are slowly working on lowering the ventilator assistance, which is great.'
