Goodspeed has released a sneak peek video from its upcoming virtual gala concert, Shakin' The Blues Away.

Goodspeed Musicals has announced Shakin' the Blues Away: A Virtual Gala Concert for Goodspeed. The exciting online event will premiere October 29, 2020. This gala concert benefitting the two-time Tony Award-winning theater will feature stars of Goodspeed and Broadway performing beloved songs from classic musicals.

For most theatre lovers across the nation, the prospect of seeing live entertainment in the near future seemed uncertain. 

The Sharon Playhouse, in it's continued mission to offer live entertainment throughout the Covid 19 summer will inaugurate a new Socially Distanced Patio Cabaret Dinner Series featuring concerts by the finest Broadway has to offer. Broadway comes to Sharon!

Today, Broadway veteran Telly Leung shared a clip of the cast of Broadway's first acapella musical, In Transit, singing the song, 'We Are Home' from the show. 

Lyric has announced full casting for its production of 42nd Street, to be presented May 29 - June 21, 2020, at the Lyric Opera House, 20 N. Wacker Drive, Chicago. Previously announced Broadway stars Norm Lewis (Julian Marsh) and Faith Prince (Dorothy Brock) are joined by Isabelle McCalla (Peggy Sawyer), who recently starred in Broadway's The Prom and Aladdin, and Ashley Day (Billy Lawlor), who reprises his role from the West End revival of 42nd Street.

Union Avenue Opera is on a roll! Two homers in a row! First their sublime Candide, and now an equally fine production of Puccini's La bohème. Union Avenue knocked them both right into the bleachers, and those of us who were lucky enough to catch one of those prize performances now own a true treasure. I caught La bohème last night and I think I'll have that experience bronzed.

Frozen is celebrating the first day of summer, today, Friday, June 21, with the release of three brand new music videos featuring the current stars of the hit Broadway musical, including the first recorded performance by Ryann Redmond as Olaf, the first female to portray the beloved snowman in any production of Frozen.

Over 21 artists will make their Union Avenue Opera (UAO) debut this summer as the company celebrates its 25th Anniversary Season. The seven-week summer season will open Friday, July 5 with Bernstein's hilarious, philosophical, and fast-paced take on Voltaire's 1759 biting satire of the same name, Candide and will feature the return of Christine Brewer to the UAO stage. The season continues through August 24th with performances of Puccini's operatic blockbuster La boheme, a tribute to UAO's tradition of presenting operas in original languages, and the St. Louis premiere of Tom Cipullo's Glory Denied, the true saga of Vietnam veteran Colonel Jim Thompson, the longest-held American POW in US history.

Monday night at NYC's Le Poisson Rouge, the fourth annual Broadway Bee competition scored impressive success. Broadway stars, cast mates, and supporters raised $41,898 for Broadway Bound Kids' arts education programs. Paige Davis, representing team Chicago, took home the grand prize trophy.

Just yesterday, the company of Frozen celebrated its first anniversary with a party at The Stinger cocktail bar in The Intercontinental. On hand for the festivities were original stars Caissie Levy (Elsa) and Patti Murin (Anna) and new principal cast members Joe Carroll as Hans, Noah J. Ricketts as Kristoff, and, as Olaf, Ryann Redmond. Check out photos from the celebration below!

Last night, the Lusty Month of May came early when Lincoln Center presented its benefit concert of Camelot!

New cast members come to Arendelle! Frozen has brought in Joe Carroll and Ryann Redmond as Hans and Olaf, respectively. Noah J. Ricketts has assumed the role of Kristoff. The three actors began performances Tuesday, February 19, 2019.
