The Ogunquit Playhouse rolls out the second show of its 2021 season with a performance of Jimmy Buffet's Escape to Margaritaville, a jukebox musical with music and lyrics by (no surprise) Jimmy Buffet and book by Greg Garcia and Mike O'Malley.

Escape to Margaritaville follows Tully, JD, Brick, Jamal, and Marley as they welcome a revolving door of vacationers to the Margaritaville hotel, blissfully unaware that the impending arrival of Rachel and Tammy will turn their world upside down.

Kick off your flip flops as Ogunquit Playhouse transforms into a Caribbean oasis where love and laughter are the keys to growing older without having to grow up. Escape to Margaritaville will feature Cailen Fu (Broadway’s Mean Girls) as Rachel, Jake David Smith (Broadway’s Frozen) as Tully, Megan Kane (Emojiland) as Tammy, and more.

From the comedic brilliance of the mighty Pythons and their hysterically inaccurate retelling of King Arthur’s quest for the Holy Grail, Eric Idle adapts his original Broadway script to streamline the music and laughter for a COVID-friendly environment.

Monty Python will take on a new twist as Ogunquit Playhouse kicks off their very first Outdoor Season with Spamalot, the first production to play the theater’s new, 25,000-square-foot, open-air Leary Pavilion. Spamalot begins previews Wednesday, June 16, opens Friday, June 18, and runs through July 10, 2021.

Live theatre returns to Maine’s Southern Seacoast this Summer with side-splitting laughter; tap dancing heroes and monsters; pizza, spam, and cheeseburgers in paradise; and everyone’s favorite pop hits from the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s. It’s the biggest backyard bash in their 89 year history and you’re invited!
