Capital Stage Announces 2021/22 Season

Capital Stage is reopening its doors on August 25, 2021. The 2021-2022 Season will mark their 17th season beginning with Jeanne Sakata's HOLD THESE TRUTHS, directed by Jeffrey Lo (VIETGONE, THE GREAT LEAP - A VIRTUAL PERFORMANCE), and starring Jomar Tagatac (VIETGONE).

Capital Stage Cancels Performances of ADMISSIONS by Joshua Harmon

Capital Stage has released the following statement regarding upcoming performances: The safety and health of our community is a top priority. Unfortunately at this time, and under advisory of several Health and Government Organizations, Capital Stage is cancelling all performances for the month of March. Performances will resume in April.

The Idea Fund Announces Round Twelve 2020 Grantees

The Idea Fund, a re-granting program administered by DiverseWorks, Aurora Picture Show, and Project Row Houses and funded by The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, is thrilled to announce Round 12 (2020) grant recipients: Latifa AlBokhari, Britni Andrews, Black TM, Anne Buckwalter, Civic TV, Mitchell Collins, Familia Artist Collective, Junior Fernandez & S Rodriguez, Brandon Harris, Sin Huellas, Cecilia Norman, Stephanie Saint Sanchez, Michael Stevenson, and TAME, The Aspiring Me - Andrew Davis.

Capital Stage presents the Sacramento premiere of THE HUMANS by Stephen Karam. Michael Stevenson, at the helm of his fifth season as Capital Stage Producing Artistic Director, will direct this Tony Award winner for Best Play. Capital Stage Announces 15th Anniversary Season

Capital Stage announces its 15th Anniversary Season entitled GOING HOME. This landmark season will be the 4th season at the helm of Producing Artistic Director, Michael Stevenson.

THE OTHER PLACE By Sharr White Comes to Capital Stage

Capital Stage presents the Sacramento Premiere of The Other Place by Sharr White. Producing Artistic Director Michael Stevenson will direct the Sacramento Premiere, and will feature local favorites Melinda Parrett and Capital Stage Co-Founder Jonathan Rhys Williams. Performances will run from May 1 through June 2, 2019 with a Press Opening on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at 8 pm.

One artist's career hangs on the line, dependent on this play's success...or failure. Will they do it? Should they do it? The Thanksgiving Play will be directed by Producing Artistic Director Michael Stevenson and is the seventh and final production of Capital Stage's 2017/18 Season: Future Tense. Performances will run from June 20 - July 22, 2018
