He transformed the gilded stage at Carnegie Hall into a nonstop giddy celebration of Stephen Sondheim's work, culminating in a touching, understated finale.

Over the weekend, Emmy-nominated Broadway star Tituss Burgess made his Carnegie Hall debut in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage with a tribute concert to the music of Stephen Sondheim. Titled Take Me to the World, guest artists included Jane Krakowski, Orfeh, Michael McElroy and Lillias White. Directed by Gabriel Vega Weissman with music direction by Charlie Rosen, the program focused on the music of Sondheim - on the occasion of his upcoming 90th birthday - and its singular impact on Burgess's life and artistic trajectory.

On Saturday, February 1 at 8:00 p.m. Tony Award nominees Michael McElroy and Orfeh join Tituss Burgess in his Carnegie Hall debut in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage with a tribute concert to the music of Stephen Sondheim.

This sophisticated and authoritative interpretation of the iconic song helps it become catchier than ever wrapped inside of BIV's incredible musicianship. Once again Grammy award-nominated and Tony Honoree Michael McElroy has completed his inspired arrangement with orchestrations in collaboration with Isaac Harlan, and videography by Nate Wind. 2019 Tony Award Honoree Michael McElroy and the BROADWAY INSPIRATIONAL VOICES announce the addition of Alicia Graf Mack to their 2019 holiday concert, Seasons of Inspiration. Ms. Mack is the current Director of Juilliard Dance, and co-founder of D(n)A Arts Collective, an initiative created to enrich the lives of young dancers through master classes and intensives. Her distinguished career as a leading dancer includes Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Dance Theatre of Harlem, and special performances with artists such as Alicia Keys, John Legend, and Beyoncé. She is a recipient of the Columbia University Medal of Excellence, and Smithsonian magazine named her an American Innovator of the Arts and Sciences.

The GRAMMY Award-winning Brooklyn Youth Chorus---recently featured in the New York Times, on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and on Fox 5 News at Six with Ernie Anastos---performs four free/cheap shows for the home borough this holiday season next week. Locals can catch the starry Chorus for free at the Brooklyn Borough President's Tree Lighting (Dec. 11 at 5:15p), and with affordable tickets to three concert programs at Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph with Holiday Harmonies (Dec. 13th at 7:30pm and Dec. 14th at 2:30pm), as well as Winter's Eve (Dec. 14th at 7:30pm). The 28-year-old Brooklyn institution draws 7-17 year old singers from all five boroughs, and has established a national profile as the go-to youth choir for classical, pop, theatrical, and out-of-the-box collaborations with A-list artists and institutions like Bon Iver, The National, Beyonce & Jay-Z, Barbra Streisand, Elton John, the New York Philharmonic, Nico Muhly, and Caroline Shaw.
