Lyrics and Lyricists presents What's Going On?: Songs of Change on March 25, 26 and 27. What's Going On was created and conceived by Warren Adams (Motown: The Musical) and Michael O. Mitchell (MJ: The Musical ) as a theatrical concert exploring the work of Black songwriters and artists whose music is an essential part of the American Songbook and has played an integral role in the country's culture.

 Black Violin uses their unique blend of classical and hip-hop music to overcome stereotypes while encouraging people of all ages, races and economic backgrounds to join together to break down cultural barriers. “The Black Violin Experience Tour” comes to Overture Hall on Thursday, March 2 at 7:30 p.m.

The Reid Cabaret Theatre at Casa Mañana will kick off 2023 with Unchain My Heart: The Music of Ray Charles.

This February, Flushing Town Hall celebrates Black History Month (or African American History Month, as it's also known) with the return of its Black History Trilogy, a three-part series featuring outstanding performers paying tribute to influential African American musicians, dancers, and entertainers.

The winners have been announced for the 2022 BroadwayWorld Delaware Awards, honoring the best in regional productions, touring shows, and more which had their first performance between October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022.

Percussion icon and Prince collaborator Sheila E will play 2 shows at City Winery at 6pm and 9:30pm on Friday, February 10.  Playing with “A band that can go wherever we need to, whatever genre. New Orleans grooves, jazz, funk, or pop songs,” Sheila E's performance will include both her classics and new works.  

Birdland Jazz Club and Birdland Theater has announced programming running January 16 through January 29. Performers appearing at Birdland Jazz Club include Stacey Kent, Billy Hart Quartet, Adam Birnbaum Quartet, Scott Robinson's Octet and Tony Kadleck.

Florida Studio Theatre has announced that its Winter Cabaret Series opener, The ‘70s: More Than A Decade, will return to the theatre for a special encore run in March 2023. After playing nine shows a week for nineteen weeks, The 70s: More Than A Decade will have its final performance in FST’s Court Cabaret on Sunday, February 12, as planned.

While the series' recurring cast includes Tom Selleck, Bridget Moynahan, Donnie Wahlberg, and more, guest stars have included Audra McDonald, Kelli O'Hara, Joanna Gleason, Adrienne Warren, Jinkx Monsoon, Norm Lewis, Norbert Leo Butz, and more. It is our sincere hope that this is not the last MISS we will see. The ladies have something here and this 92nd Street Y evening could very well serve as a workshop for something really magical.

The Kitchen will present GRIEF, the first New York institutional solo exhibition of work by celebrated composer, pianist, vocalist, filmmaker, and multidisciplinary artist Samora Pinderhughes.
