The San Diego premiere of The Pleasure Trials, a new play by Sarah Saltwick, lands at a powerful moment after the overturning of Roe Vs. Wade.

Cygnet Theatre is pleased to announce the cast and creative team for it's upcoming production of Mud Row by Tony-nominated playwright (Ain't Too Proud: The Life and Times of the Temptations) and MacArthur Genius recipient Dominique Morisseau. Receiving its second-ever production since it's world premiere at People's Light in 2019, this beautiful and dynamic play is directed by Delicia Turner Sonnenberg and runs May 18 to June 19, 2022. Opening Night for media is Saturday, May 21.

Marquette Theatre will present Loy A. Webb’s “The Light,” the inaugural production in its Voices Included for People of Color (VIP) Theatre company, Friday, April 22, to Saturday, April 30, at the Evan P. and Marion Helfaer Theatre.

Scripps Ranch Theatre  continues Season 42 with THE TAMING by Lauren Gunderson, directed by Marti Gobel. The production runs April 15 - May 1 on the campus of Alliant International University. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm. There will be a preview performance on April 15th, and Press Opening on Saturday, April 16th at 8pm.

​​​​​​​Scripps Ranch Theatre, located on the campus of Alliant Int'l University in Scripps Ranch announced the reopening of their theatre. They will kick off with a Welcome Back Celebration! on December 4th at 7:30pm featuring musical and theatrical performances by some of their community's favorite performers - and have announced their 2022 Season which will start in January, 2022. 

It's the Swinging '60s in London, and American playwright Adrienne Kennedy finds herself among the rich and ultra-famous when she's hired to write a stage version of John Lennon's new book. Told in an interview-style conversation between Kennedy and her son, this autobiographical play shares her sense of awed wonder as she tries to hold her artistic ground in a patriarchal world of show business luminaries.

Forward Theater prepares their return to the stage with a slate of four mainstage plays, beginning in September. The 2021-22 Nevertheless season will be presented for live audiences in the Playhouse at Overture Center. 

Increasing demand has prompted Renaissance Theaterworks to extend the streaming of Charlayne Woodard's NEAT.

As the second production of their 2020-21 season, Renaissance Theaterworks will present Charlayne Woodard's NEAT, with virtuoso actor Marti Gobel playing 24 different characters. NEAT will be available for streaming on demand March 19 through April 11, 2021.

Forward Theater Company will debut its 10th anniversary season (which now  includes four mainstage productions) with the Wisconsin premiere of Skeleton Crew, written by  America's hottest playwright, Dominique Morisseau. This poetic, powerful and timely play will  be presented in the Playhouse at Overture Center, September 6-23.  

Due to the complex challenges of COVID-19 and in keeping with recommendations from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and the CDC, Renaissance Theaterworks (RTW) reimagined their 2020-2021 season to ensure the safety of patrons, artists, and staff.

First Stage will fuel the imaginations of audiences young and old with their next 2019/20 mainstage production, A WRINKLE IN TIME, based on the bestselling book by author Madeleine L'Engle, adapted for the stage by John Glore and directed by First Stage Artistic Director Jeff Frank. The play explores the adventures of female protagonist Meg Murry with her brother Charles Wallace and their new friend Calvin O'Keefe. On a dark and stormy night, a mysterious stranger arrives at Meg Murry's home and she embarks on a wild, empowering journey of self-discovery. Joining forces with Charles, Calvin, Mrs. Whatsit, and many more, they travel through space and time to battle the forces of evil so Meg can rescue her father, save humanity and find herself. This fantastical adventure of a lifetime will propel the imaginations of First Stage audiences and help them discover what a tesseract is. Sponsored by Enerpac Tool Group.

Renaissance Theaterworks (RTW) will kick off its 27th season themed, a?oeTransformation,a?? with Jen Silverman's 2015 dramedy, THE ROOMMATE. Directed by Renaissance Theaterworks' Co-Founder and Artistic Director Suzan Fete, this production will feature artists Marti Gobel and Isabel Quintero. THE ROOMMATE runs October 18 a?"
