Second Stage Theater, now celebrating its 40th Anniversary, just hosted their Fall Benefit yesterday at Terminal 5 (610 West 56th Street), honoring Tony Award winner and Second Stage Theater alum Harvey Fierstein. The evening featured performances and appearances by Cyndi Lauper, Billy Porter, Rosie O'Donnell, Annaleigh Ashford, Keala Settle, Wayne Brady, Christopher Sieber, Michael Urie and Marissa Jaret Winokur and the original Hairspray Dynamites.

The FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS takes place on Thursday, October 25 and Friday, October 26, 2018 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues). Singer, actress and dancer Mackenzie Ziegler (Dancing with the Stars: Juniors, Dance Moms) as Dorothy, Phil LaMarr ("Mad TV" and "Pulp Fiction") as The Tin Man, Jared Gertner (Broadway's The Book of Mormon) as The Scarecrow, and Hailee Payne and Valerie Rockey of So You Think You Can Dance join previously announced Kermit The Frog as the Wizard of Oz and Tony-Award winner Marissa Jaret Winokur (Celebrity Big Brother Winner and Broadway's Hairspray) as Glinda. The official press opening will be held on December 14, 2018 at GIVE KIDS PANTO, a benefit to raise monies for the student matinee performance serving Title One schools in the PUSD and LAUSD.

Jake Busey (The Predator, Netflix's Stranger Things, Hulu's freakish, Showtime Network's Ray Donovan), Matt Steele, Nicole Sullivan (Netflix's Disjointed, Netflix's Girlboss, ABC's Black-ish, FOX's MADtv), Marissa Jaret Winokur (HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm, Hairspray), Jayson Bernard (Halloweed, Family Values), Jason Stuart (The Birth of a Nation, Tangerine), and newcomer Timothy Brundidge will star in DIVOS!, a high-school comedy written by Matt Steele, and directed Ryan Patrick Bartley, in his feature directorial debut.

The Miss America Organization and ABC announced that choreographer, host and dancer Carrie Ann Inaba will host “The 2019 Miss America Competition.” Joining Inaba as co-host for the evening is television personality Ross Mathews when the competition airs live on ABC from Atlantic City's Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall on SUNDAY, SEPT. 9 (9:00 – 11:00 p.m. EDT).
