According to deadline.com, Marilyn Bergman passed away at 1:15 this morning in her Los Angeles residence. Her husband and musical collaborator, Alan Bergman, and daughter, Julie Bergman, were at her bedside. At the age of 93, the award-winning lyricist and seventeen-time Oscar nominee died of non-Covid related respiratory problems.

But last night, she was the headliner and the crowd went wild for her. It was been nearly 40 years since Ms. Bacari has made an appearance on the NY stage and it is highly overdue.

Legendary icon, Barbra Streisand, recently announced that her new album, Release Me 2, will be available on Friday, August 6th. Birdland Jazz Club has announced that Grammy Award-nominated pianist, vocalist and songwriter Billy Stritch will return to the stage for an exclusive three-night engagement celebrating his new album Billy’s Place from Club44 Records with five shows from Thursday, August 5 through Saturday, August 7.
