John Ross Bowie’s Cold War comedy BRUSHSTROKE considers the role of 'art' from a bunch of different angles and fashions a very nifty play around it.

John Ross Bowie’s Brushstroke world premieres at the Odyssey January 27, 2024 (with previews beginning January 23rd). Casey Stangl directs the cast of James Urbaniak, Malcolm Barrett, Brendan Hines and Brendan Hines. James took some time from rehearsals to answer a few of my queries.

Among the members who signed the statement of support for the CROWN Act are Audra McDonald, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Kerry Washington, and dozens of other performers. The Road Theatre Company returns to live performances with the world premiere of Bernardo Cubria’s THE PLAY YOU WANT March 1, 2022; the first of three plays performing in repertory. Play-PerView announced today that actress, writer and comedienne Jamie Denbo (“Ronna & Beverly”) has joined the upcoming LIVE reading of “Brushstroke,” a new comedy by John Ross Bowie (Four Chords and a Gun) and directed by Casey Stangl. Ms. Denbo replaces the previously announced Brian Huskey and will share the stage with Malcolm Barrett ('Timeless'), John Ross Bowie ('The Big Bang Theory'), Ana Ortiz ('Ugly Betty'), and James Urbaniak ('The Venture Brothers').

Play-PerView is heading to the west coast for its next two Live and Live-Streamed Theatrical Events. On Monday December 20, Play-PerView will present a LIVE reading of _“Brushstroke,” a new comedy by John Ross Bowie (Four Chords and a Gun_) and directed by Casey Stangl.

Nat Geo's GENIUS: ARETHA doesn't arrive until, March 21, but the network is planning to tease the show in a major way. The new series, led by Tony winner Cynthia Erivo, will host premiere multi-city drive-in screening events on March 11, featuring a special performance by Erivo herself.
