Executive Producer Andrew Solt, whose company SOFA Entertainment acquired The Ed Sullivan Show library over 20 years ago, announced today that ED SULLIVAN'S COMEDY LEGENDS will premiere on PBS stations August 6th. This star-studded special brings back the show's greatest moments that defined the history of comedy, including the timeless routines of George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Rodney Dangerfield, Bob Hope, Jack Benny, Red Skelton, Flip Wilson and many more.
Lisa Lampanelli Bringing One-Woman Show to Broadway!

According to NY Magazine, Lisa Lampanelli is busy creating a one-woman Broadway show with the help of Alan Zweibel. Lampanelli commented: 'It's something that I haven't done yet. I'm scared to death because I have to talk about the real stuff. Like, no stand-up; there's not one line of stand-up ... it's pretty much going to focus on my two main obsessions in life, which are men and food. And now that I'm married I only have one obsession, food, so I'm going to stick to that.'

The dictionary gives others words for BEST. EXCELLENT, EFFECTIVE, PERFECT, UNSURPASSED, PREEMINENT, HIGHEST QUALITY etc. None of those are sufficient enough to describe the Songs, the Arrangements, the Performers, the Musicians, David Zippel and of course the great CY COLEMAN in a production at 59E59. From the moment a smiling Billy Stritch (performer, musical director and arranger of the show) entered the stage and went to the piano, it was obvious that a musical tour de force was about to begin and The Best Was Yet To Come!

Logo's fourth annual 'NewNowNext Awards' returned to Los Angeles last night in a live spectacle brimming with recent-breakthrough celebrities, pop culture phenomena and tomorrow's next big things, keeping Logo at the forefront of what's trending with today's 'in' crowd. Hosted by James Van Der Beek, the show honored Lady Gaga with the esteemed 'Always Next, Forever Now Award' and featured musical performances by Robyn, Panic! at the Disco, Oh Land and Wynter Gordon. Logo's 'NewNowNext Awards' 2011 premieres Monday, April 11 at 10/9C on Logo.
GSN Begins Production on LINGO

GSN announced today that it is starting production on LINGO, a mystery-word game show. Produced by 'Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?'s ZOO Productions (a division of ALL3MEDIA group), LINGO will be hosted by popular comedian Bill Engvall. Well known to audiences as the star of the TBS series 'The Bill Engvall Show' and as a co-star of 'Blue Collar TV,' Engvall will be joined by a co-host who has yet to be cast. Airing as a daily strip show with an initial run of 40 episodes, LINGO will premiere on GSN in June 2011.
Dunham, Seinfeld, et al. Embark on Comedy Tours in 2011

2011 is set to be a big year for comedians who will embark on tours during the year, according to data from the TicketNetwork exchange.* Topping the list of highest grossing stand-up comedians is ventriloquist Jeff Dunham, whose Identity Crisis Tour will appear in cities all throughout the United States. An overall average ticket price of $105 will make Dunham an affordable option for those deciding which show to see.
