The Best Plays Theatre Yearbook, 2003-2004 will honor both male and female playwrights with more of an emphasis on the women this year

Doubt by John Patrick Shanley today won the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award for best play of the 2004-2005 season. The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh received the award for best foreign play. No award was given for best musical.

The National Theatre of Great Britain's critically acclaimed production of DEMOCRACY, a new play by Michael Frayn, directed by Michael Blakemore, will play its final performance on Sunday, April 17th at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street).
