SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL Announces Award Winners

After nine days, 84 feature films and 59 short films, the juries have deliberated and the audience has voted, and Friday night the 2022 Sundance Film Festival’s Awards were announced. The award-winning films will screen online on the Festival platform on Saturday, January 29 and Sunday, January 30. Tickets for all award screening films are now on sale.

CBS All Access today announced a new series order for GUILTY PARTY, a half-hour dark comedy starring Isla Fisher as Beth Baker, a discredited journalist desperate to salvage her career by latching on to the story of a young mother sentenced to life in prison for maiming and murdering her husband, crimes she claims she didn't commit. In trying to uncover the truth, Beth finds herself in over her head as she contends with Colorado gun-smugglers, clickbait culture, the doldrums of marriage and her own tarnished past.

Amazon Studios has today announced further casting for The Power, an urgent 10-part global thriller based on the international bestselling novel of the same name, produced by Sister (Chernobyl, Giri/Haji, The Split) for Amazon Studios with Emmy Award-winning executive producer and director Reed Morano (The Handmaid's Tale). The Power is adapted for screen by writer, creator and executive producer Naomi Alderman, who is working alongside an all-female writers' room, with every episode also to be directed by women.

Yesterday marked the fifth annual Red Nose Day in the U.S., following activities and events across the country in recent weeks that brought together millions of Americans to have fun, make a difference, and raise money and awareness for children living in poverty. Red Nose Day has now raised more than $190 million in the campaign's first five years in the U.S., including nearly $40 million so far in the 2019 campaign with the fundraising ongoing through June and beyond.
