What did our critic think of ROGERS + HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA at Broadway Rose?

On Memorial Day, a host of Rose City's most talented artists will come together at Resound NW for a concert benefiting refugees at the southern border. The show will include musical theater, folk, and pop song favorites in the theme of “Songs of Home,” every refugee's dream.

Portland Center Stage's Swirl in the Pearl: A PCS Benefit Performance will take over The Armory on May 3 to celebrate the power of great theater and wonderful community. Favorite Portland artists will be glammed up and ready to delight, including Merideth Kaye Clark, Susannah Mars, Vin Shambry, LaRhonda Steele, Leah Yorkston, and Ken Yoshikawa.

The musical that celebrates the power of transformation is the focus of the next PCS Remix: Staged Reading series. The Music Man Staged Reading will be presented virtually on May 7 and May 8, with live performances broadcast at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now.

Nominees have been announced for the 13th Annual Portland Area Musical Theatre Awards. The ceremony will take place on Youtube, June 14 at 7pm.

It would be difficult to know less about Dusty Springfield than I did when I walked into the Sanctuary at Sandy Plaza to see triangle productions' FOREVER DUSTY on Thursday. I knew some of her music, and even had an album, but that was it. Frankly, I expected the show to be a loosely knit story of her greatest hits.

Forever Dusty tells the dramatic, revealing story of how a shy Irish Catholic school girl from West London transformed herself into the voice of blue eyed soul and the face of Swinging London.
