Spruce Peak Arts has announced the full line-up for the Spruce Peak Summer Concert Series on the Village Green! Four additional performances have been added to bring Rayland Baxter (June 30th), Ruston Kelly (August 4th), Jamestown Revival (August 18th), and The Lone Bellow (September 1st) to Spruce Peak!

The Recording Academy announced today 12-time GRAMMY-winning artist John Legend will be honored during Recording Academy Honors Presented By The Black Music Collective taking place in-person during GRAMMY Week. Legend will be receiving the first-ever Recording Academy Global Impact Award for his personal and professional achievements in music.

The Carr Center, the legacy Black arts presenter located in the heart of Detroit's downtown cultural district, is set to celebrate April as Jazz Appreciation Month with a unique live concert event. The Carr Center Presents 'Great Jazz Women of Detroit: Alice Coltrane, Dorothy Ashby and Betty Carter' at the Detroit School of Arts (DSA) at the Ford Theatre.

Launched in 2011, Vevo's artist development program shines a spotlight on the world's freshest new talent. Vevo LIFT alumni include the likes of Jorja Smith, Anne-Marie, James Bay, Lewis Capaldi, YUNGBLUD and more. Koffee first began working with Vevo in 2019 as a Vevo DSCVR artist, releasing performances of “Toast” and “Raggamuffin.”

Why Is We Americans? is set to be released on DVD and for digital purchase on April 12th for $24.95. The movie is executive produced by Ms. Lauryn Hill and Oscar®-nominated writer and filmmaker, Oren Moverman (The Messenger). This 2022 theatrical release arrives on DVD loaded with extras, including Q&A’s, deleted scenes, and more. The movie originally opened on January 14th at the IFC Center in NYC. Breakout singer-songwriter Danielle Ponder is unveiling her new song, “So Long,” via Future Classic—a powerful anthem about the struggle of finding one’s voice, of resilience and renewal. The song was produced by Gianluca Buccellati, Mercury Prize winner, Grammy and Ivor Novello nominee for his work on Arlo Parks' Collapsed In Sunbeams.

DACAMERA, a Houston-based presenter of chamber music and jazz concerts, announces vibraphonist Joel Ross on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Cullen Theater, Wortham Theater Center. Joined by harpist Brandee Younger, Ross and his band Good Vibes will perform an assortment of songs from his two Blue Note recordings Kingmaker and Who Are You? Ross is one of the standout artists in the recent resurgence of groundbreaking jazz musicians coming out of Chicago. In 2019, Ross released his Blue Note debut KingMaker to universal critical acclaim and topped the DownBeat Critics Poll Rising Star category for vibraphone.
