Hulu has renewed live-action/animated hybrid Original comedy series Woke, inspired by the life of award-winning artist Keith Knight, for a second season (8 episodes). The first season debuted on Hulu, Wednesday, September 9 and is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.

Today, during the Hulu Press Tour, Hulu presented the company's lineup of upcoming original programming including semi-animated comedy series Woke starring Lamorne Morris; No Man's Land, the dramatic tale of the Syrian civil war; and the second season of Pen15, a middle school comedy set in the early 2000s starring Anna Konkle and Maya Erskine. The three Hulu Originals showcased today will join the company's growing slate of premium Original content, following a successful year of back-to-back new hits such as Little Fires Everywhere, Palm Springs, Solar Opposites, The Great, Normal People and more.  

Hulu has renewed A24's Ramy, from Golden Globe-winner Ramy Youssef, for a 10-episode, third season. The second season debuted on Hulu on Friday, May 29.  

Hulu has announced that all 8 episodes of new comedy series Woke are set to premiere on September 9th.

Deadline reports that a new musical family comedy is in the works at ABC. The pilot, called 'Mourning Songs,' hails from 'New Girl' showrunners Dave Finkel and Brett Baer.

Variety reports that Hulu has ordered Lamorne Morris-led comedy “Woke' to series. The pilot landed at Hulu in 2018.
