The Play Company Presents SKY-PONY: RAPTURED at Ukrainian National Home, 10/25-28

Off-Broadway's The Play Company presents the concert-theater hybrid piece SKY-PONY: RAPTURED, created by Obie Award-winning writer and musician Kyle Jarrow (ARMLESS, A VERY MERRY UNAUTHORIZED CHILDREN'S SCIENTOLOGY PAGEANT) and singer/actress Lauren Worsham (DOG DAYS, WHERE'S CHARLEY, JERRY SPRINGER THE OPERA), starring their Brooklyn-based indie band Sky-Pony, October 25-28, at the Ukrainian National Home (140 Second Avenue). Peter James Cook (NEVER SLEEP ALONE) directs.

Indie Rock Band Sky-Pony Set for Joe's Pub Tonight, 8/19

Tonight, August 19th, the band Sky-Pony will explode onto the stage of Joe's Pub like a herd of stampeding wild horses. They'll serve up a healthy dose of original tunes inspired in equal parts by indie-rock and good old-fashioned American Songbook balladry.

Signal Ensemble Theatre Opens HOSTAGE SONG Tonight, 5/5

Signal Ensemble Theatre has announced the final production in their 2011-2012 season, the Chicago premiere of Hostage Song, tonight, May 5 through June 9, at Signal Ensemble Theatre, 1802 West Berenice Ave. Clay McLeod Chapman writes the production with music and lyrics by Kyle Jarrow, directed by Signal's Co-Artistic Director Ronan Marra with music direction by Signal Ensemble Member Jon Steinhagen. The performance schedule for Hostage Song is Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Opening/press night is tonight, May 5 at 8 p.m. The production runs 90 minutes with no intermission and please note there will be no show on Sunday, May 6. Regular ticket prices are $20 for single tickets, $15 for industry/students/seniors/groups and $10 for previews. Red Fern Theatre Company Presents MARCH, Opening 4/14

Red Fern Theatre Company (Melanie Moyer Williams, Executive Artistic Director, Ken Hall, Managing Director) will present the World Premiere of Sharyn Rothstein's (Lunchblocked with Ars Nova; Camp Monster at Williamstown Theatre Festival) MARCH, directed by Kel Haney(Assistant Director, Manhattan Theatre Club's Wit; Good Egg with Red Fern Theatre Company) with Scenic Design by Caite Hevner, Costume Design by Sydney Maresca, Sound Design and Original Music by Anthony Mattana, and Lighting Design by Marie Yokoyama. The production will be cast by Darragh Garvey and Stage Managed by Michal V. Mendelson. March was originally workshopped at the Bay Area Playwright's Festival and was a 2010 finalist for the Yale Drama Series Competition.

Philip Seymour Hoffman's Cop Drama Gets Picked Up by FX

FX will develop a cop drama produced by Philip Seymour Hoffman, Deadline.com reports. Titled Inside, the television show will be written by playwright-screenwriter Kyle Jarrow, as well as Hoffman and Emily Ziff Cooper's Town Prods.

Steven Sater & Duncan Sheik's THE NIGHTINGALE to Play La Jolla Playhouse in July

La Jolla Playhouse just announced that The Nightingale, by the creative team behind the Tony Award-winning musical Spring Awakening: Steven Sater (book and lyrics) and Duncan Sheik (music), directed by Tony Award nominee Moises Kaufman (33 Variations), will be part of the Playhouse's 2012/2013 season. Running in the Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre July 10 - August 5, 2012, The Nightingale will be presented as part of the Playhouse's acclaimed Page To Stage Play Development Program.

Web Series JACK IN A BOX to Return for 4th and Final Season
