And that's a wrap on the 2023/24 Broadway season! The final two shows of the spring officially opened last night, and BroadwayWorld was on the red carpet for The Great Gatsby as the VIP guests arrived at the Broadway Theatre. Check out photos below!

Isabella Nguyen and Bee Golleher have so much experience, and when they hit the stage, they command your attention. That also holds true for behind the scenes as well. So, whatever they choose to do, I know they will make an amazing mark in their worlds.

The new musical GOLDEN will have a concert on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 7:00pm at Green Room 42 (570 10th Ave). The performance stars Major Attaway (Disney’s Aladdin), Bryonha Marie Parham (A Commercial Jingle For Regina Comet, Prince of Broadway), and Kevin Massey (Wicked, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder), with additional casting to be announced.

Broadway's best gathered to celebrate Wicked's 20 epic years on Broadway on Monday night, a milestone that only three other shows have ever achieved.  BroadwayWorld was there for the big night, as well as the star-studded after party. Check out photos from the party here!

SOMA Stage will present the return of Broadway in the Park on Labor Day, Monday, September 4th at 4:30pm.  The concert will take place at the Memorial Park Amphitheater in Maplewood, NJ, just a 35-minute train ride from NYC. 

Based on P.L. Travers’ children’s novels as well as Walt Disney’s 1964 Academy Award-winning movie musical of the same name, Mary Poppins follows a nanny who arrives on the doorstep of Jane & Michael Banks. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren't the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect. Using a combination of magic and common sense, Mary Poppins must teach the family members how to value each other again.

From July 25th-30th, North Carolina Theatre will be presenting MARY POPPINS at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium, which is located inside the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts. I had the great pleasure of interviewing actress Sara Jean Ford, who will be taking on the role of Winifred Banks. Some of her previous Broadway credits include THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, FINIAN’S RAINBOW, A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING, and CATS.

The stars have aligned to bring together this star-studded cast in North Carolina Theatre’s (NCT) summer musical of Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's MARY POPPINS, flying on the Raleigh Memorial Auditorium stage at the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts July 25-30, 2023.

The creators have conveyed their story and intent fully.
