When you think about the FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention, you may not realize the number of Broadway-related connections it has, even beyond this year’s spotlights on HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL and HAZBIN HOTEL.

Writer-director Todd Turner's film The December Cross starring Kellan Lutz (Twilight), Neal McDonough (Minority Report), Mila Harris (No Exit), Stelio Savante (Infidel), Jennifer Esposito (Crash), Judd Hirsch (The Fablemans), and Grace Van Dien (Stranger Things) has landed a SAG-AFTRA interim agreement to start principal photography in Kentucky.

A cult classic movie that was considered a flop when first released has become a favorite during the month of October. In 2007, Debbie Isaacs produced the horror film Ghosts of Goldfield, filmed near Tonopah, Nevada, 25 miles north of Goldfield, Nevada. Its screening has now become an annual tradition of an entertaining night of poking fun at the movie, with people screaming at the characters while laughing. The Most Horrible Horror Movie Ever event, benefiting the nonprofit Unshakeable, will be presented at The Beverly Theater on Oct. 19.

The indie thriller made by Keyvan Sheikhalishahi has been in competition in 39 festivals, and will soon screen at festivals such as Eastern Oregon Film Festival, Sioux City International Film Festival, Black Bear Film Festival, San Pedro Film Festival, Festival of Cinema NYC and Fargo Fantastic Film Festival, which is part of the ValleyCon.
