'Disney Broadway Hits,' now in its third edition since 2019, has returned once again. This time, Alan Menken, the Disney Legend who has composed numerous Disney song classics, flew to Japan. Five Broadway headliners also gathered. Additionally, Kyomoto Taiga (SixTONES) from Japan joined the concert, along with an orchestra, to illuminate Tokyo's night with Disney's iconic melodies.

Josh Strickland originated the title role in Disney’s TARZAN on Broadway in 2006 and has since been the iconic voice of the character as the musical has lived on through the fan favorite cast album and licensing around the world. Now the star returns to TARZAN through October 21, 2023 at Tuacahn.  Josh Strickland happily sat down with BroadwayWorld near the Tuacahn Amphitheatre to discuss his long association with the show from audition to Broadway to Germany, and now in what he calls his “last hurrah” at Tuacahn.

Josh Strickland, who originated the role of Tarzan on Broadway and appears on the original cast recording, leads Disney’s TARZAN at the Tuacahn Amphitheatre.  The entire production lives up to its star with a heightened reality that equals the euphoria conjured by such an unparalleled opportunity.

It’s July 1, 2023, 6 p.m., 105 degrees Fahrenheit.  Tuacahn Center for the Arts in the red rock wilderness of southern Utah is abuzz with activity, but it feels like any other day in the regional theatre’s summer season, which spans from May to October each year.  With an annual budget of approximately $25 million, it employs more than 300 visiting and local artisans, performers, and staff, not including the countless volunteers.

As the 2023 Tuacahn Broadway season opens, the stage is set to swap between two very different worlds, tied together with similar themes of love and family.   

From swinging apes and loin-cloth clad men to candy-crazed children and a flowing chocolate river, Tuacahn has the golden ticket to entertainment this summer with musical renditions of Tarzan and Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory opening May 26 and 27 respectively.
