Review: HAIRSPRAY at Titusville Playhouse

Titusville Playhouse’s HAIRSPRAY delivers a high-energy 'Baltimore fairytale' that stays true to the show's tradition of camp and exuberance. Featuring several standout performances, the production deftly balances infectious musical numbers with a technicolor parade of 1960s fashion. While celebrating the show's joyous optimism, the production acknowledges modern perspectives on diversity and offers a refreshing, timely escape for 2026 audiences.

Review: HAIRSPRAY at Actors Theatre Of Little Rock

To wrap up Season 3 for Actors Theatre of Little Rock, they ended with Hairspray—a show I’ve been wanting to see live for a long time. From December 3–20, this cast brought the beat to the Quapaw United Methodist Church basement, transforming the space into an immersive, joy-filled playground bursting with big hair, bold voices, and infectious energy.

Review: THE 1968 CHERRY COLA PITTS CHRISTMAS SPECIAL at Vincent Victoria Presents

It’s a fantasy idea that a black gay man could have a Christmas special in 1968 that would revel in his own identity so unapologetically. It sure wasn’t the world of that time, and it sure isn’t the world of today. But in some strange way, you will leave wishing it were the world we live in.

HAIRSPRAY, SHREK, NEWSIES and More Set for The Muny 2026 Season

The Muny will feature five beloved musicals and two debuts in its 108th season. The lineup for the summer for the Muny 2026 includes Hairspray, Shrek The Musical, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s South Pacific, Disney’s Newsies, and more. We've got the full scoop.

Interview: Two Seans: Marlow & Brown of DEATH OF A DRAG QUEEN at Portland's THE ECHO THEATER CO.

DEATH OF A DRAG QUEEN is a hilarious glitter-streaked Southern gothic about love, loss, and the personas we build to survive. Set in a small Louisiana apartment doubling as a backstage dressing room, the play follows Cram Brulée—a fading drag legend—as she prepares for what might be her final performance. Haunted by memories and betrayals, Cram struts, spirals, and sews her soul back together in a one-drag queen showdown soaked in sequins and secrets. Equal parts camp and confession, it’s a lipstick-stained elegy for those of us who love too much, give too much, and believe in everyone but ourselves. Breaking new ground as a one actor/one drag queen live performance. 'Tuck after tuck, somethin's gotta give!'

Review: HAIRSPRAY at Scherr Forum Theatre

What did our critic think of HAIRSPRAY at Scherr Forum Theatre? 5-Star Theatricals' production of Hairspray, which opened October 10 at the Scherr Forum Theatre in Thousand Oaks, is the bubbly, effervescent morality tale about civil rights in Baltimore in the early ’60s that won Tony awards for best musical, book, and score.

HAIR THE MUSICAL Comes to the Athenaeum Theatre

More than two decades since Melbourne last experienced the tribal love-rock musical phenomenon HAIR, a brand-new production of the Grammy and Tony Award-winning hit is coming to the Athenaeum Theatre.
