During the first week of October 2012, ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live grew for the 5th week in a row in both Total Viewers (+3%) and Adults 18-49 (+6%) to score its best numbers in 4 months - since the weeks of 6/11/12 and 6/18/12, respectively. JKL also grew over the same week last year in both viewers (+10%) and young adults (+1%), standing as the only broadcast talk show in late-night to grow year over year in either Nielsen measure.
ABC (7.7 million) qualified as the No. 2 most-watched network overall for the 2nd consecutive week (w/o 10/01/12), topping an NFL-driven NBC (+3% - 7.5 million) and Fox (+45% - 5.3 million). And despite the pre-emption of 'Modern Family' for the Presidential Debate on Wednesday, ABC paced within 2-tenths of a rating point for the week's lead among Adults 18-49 in Nielsen's non-sports averages (ABC=2.04, Fox=2.17, NBC=2.22 and CBS=2.22).
With a DWTS special, DWTS: All-Stars -- The Results Show and Private Practice, ABC finished as the #2 most-watched TV network on Tuesday for the 2nd week running to CBS (NCIS/NCIS: LA/Vegas).
It's time, once again, dear reader, to give the boot to another All-Star. But don't flash those jazz hands too hard quite yet - there are still months to go until the finale. Tonight's somewhat of a shocker elimination episode featured a whole lot of the old, including performances from last season's Katherine Jenkins, as well as Placido Domingo (guess I wasn't cool enough to know who that was before tonight), and Cher Llyod. But also some new.
On last night's episode of DANCING WITH THE STARS, the 'All-Stars' were given a choice between the jive and quickstep. BroadwayWorld brings a look at their performances below!
Has anyone noticed the cute, shameless plugging the contestants of DANCING WITH THE STARS partake in on Twitter? These guys are synergistic, cross-promoting, social media moguls! Example 1: Kirstie Alley asked Kristin Chenoweth for a sympathy vote this weekend. Cheno was naturally happy to oblige. She's Broadway/the planet's resident 'nice girl,' after all.
DANCING WITH THE STARS contestants Kelly Monaco, Joey Fatone, Pamela Anderson, Shawn Johnson, Melissa Rycroft answer fan's twitter questions and explain why they decided to return to the dance competition's All-star season. See what they had to say below!
Let's all take a moment, and let out a collective and exhaustive, "UGHHHHH." Dancing with the Stars is back. For the 15th time. I know, guys. I'm sorry. Just when you think the airwaves can't get even more clogged with televised rot.
We know he can sing. We also know he can dance, as we all saw in Season 4 of Dancing with the Stars. Joey Fatone came so close to bringing home that Mirrorball Trophy. Will he be able to claim it as an All-Star?
To celebrate the upcoming season of the hit series "Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars," ABC and affiliates around the country are challenging fans to be the Ultimate "Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars" super fan blogger, www.dwtsblogcontest.com.
