The Walnut Street Theatre’s opening night production of 1776 is, quite simply, magnificent. It arrives not merely as a theatrical event, but as something more essential—an experience that feels necessary.

Walnut Street Theatre has released first look footage of 1776, Sherman Edwards and Peter Stone's classic award-winning Broadway musical, now playing through May 31, 2026 as part of Philadelphia's celebration commemorating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Walnut Street Theatre will present 1776 THE MUSICAL as part of its 2025-26 Season of Legendary Stories, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States. The production is set to open on April 14, 2026, with performances running through May 8.

Walnut Street Theatre will conclude its 217th season with 1776 THE MUSICAL, a pivotal event in Philadelphia's 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The show, featuring historical figures like John Adams and Benjamin Franklin.

Award-winning actor Monica Horan joins Broadway veteran Matthew Hydzik to lead Fulton Theatre's upcoming production of Doubt: A Parable by John Patrick Shanley. Doubt, the second production of this season's Ellen Arnold Groff Studio Series, begins previews February 7 and 8 with an official opening February 9, 2023.

Fulton Theatre's 6th show of the 21/22 Marquee Season is the dynamic, exhilarating Man of La Mancha. This epic musical is based on Miguel de Cervantes' seventeenth century novel, Don Quixote, arguably the first true novel of the modern era. As the play begins, we see Cervantes and his manservant thrown into a dungeon where they are to be held as they await trial before the Spanish Inquisition.

This is the last chance to vote for the 2021 BroadwayWorld Central Pennsylvania Awards! The 2021 Regional Awards honor productions which had their first performance between October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2021.

The nationally regarded Fulton Theatre in partnership with Greenfield is proud to announce the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) Speaker Series. The Series of four events throughout the season kicks off Sunday, October 10, with Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS Executive Director Tom Viola. Tickets are FREE to the community, but reservations are required.

“It all began with Wizard of Oz at Maine State Music Theatre,” confides ten-year-old Lily Philbrook. “That was the show where I found my real passion for theatre. It was a huge show and working with Marc [Robin] and everyone at MSMT was an amazing experience.” In those performances, for Lily Philbrook, a dream was born- one that would carry her over her own rainbow – to performing on stages at leading regional theatres.

The Fulton Theater returns to the mainstage with Fun Home, its first production in over 18 months. While many other local theaters remained dormant during the last year and a half, the Fulton went through a well-deserved metamorphosis.
