This past month was filled with exciting stage-to-screen news! In casting news, The Little Mermaid cast Halle Bailey as Ariel in the upcoming live-action Little Mermaid film and Ryan Murphy's film adaptation of The Prom on Netflix has cast Meryl Streep and James Corden in lead roles. Amy Sherman-Palladino announced she is writing the script, as well as directing, the Gypsy film remake and Kinky Boots is heading to Broadway HD!

Encore telecasts of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” have dominated the holiday ratings week of July 1-5, winning in adults 18-49 and most other key demographics over “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” according to “live plus same day” figures from Nielsen Media Research.

The New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich, has announced the cast for the new upcoming production of comedy ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS, in association with Nuffield Southampton Theatres. Richard Bean's riotous farce, based on The Servant of Two Masters by Carlo Goldoni, is set in the colourful underworld of Brighton in the swinging sixties, combining all the elements of classic comedy into a fizzing cocktail of fun, with songs by Grant Olding.

ABC News' “Nightline” drew 1.207 million Total Viewers, 425,000 Adults 25-54 and 324,000 Adults 18-49 during the 2nd Quarter 2019, based on Most Current Data from Nielsen Media Research. “Nightline” led CBS' “The Late Late Show with James Corden” (383,000 and 267,000, respectively) during the quarter in Adults 25-54 (+43,000) and Adults 18-49 (+57,000).

Ryan Murphy will direct and produce a feature adaptation of the Tony-nominated musical The Prom for Netflix, and he has announced the cast for the film, according to Deadline. The Prom will star Meryl Streep, James Corden, and Ariana Grande, with Awkwafina, Keegan-Michael Key and Andrew Rannells in key roles.
