Disney Theatrical Productions, under the direction of Thomas Schumacher, has released full casting for the eagerly-anticipated North American tour of Disney’s Aladdin.

A deviously delicious Broadway and Hollywood sci-fi smash musical, Little Shop of Horrors has devoured the hearts of theatre goers for over 30 years. Howard Ashman and Alan Menken (Disney's The Little Mermaid, Beauty and The Beast and Aladdin) are the creative geniuses behind what has become one of the most popular shows in the world.

Great Lakes Theater (GLT) opens its 61st season with the delectable musical comedy Little Shop of Horrors, performing in the company's intimate and audience-friendly home at the Hanna Theatre, Playhouse Square, from September 16 – October 9, 2022.

What did our critic think of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS at FMCT?

Tony Award-winning actress Lena Hall (Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Kinky Boots, “Snowpiercer”) will take on the role of Audrey in the three-time Best Musical Revival Award-winning production of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS this fall, beginning Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at the Westside Theatre.

'The Little Mermaid' a Broadway production inspired by the Disney movie, will be staged in Brazil at Teatro Santander on July 17th. It is the first time Disney has allowed an staging in the country, without obligation to be a replica of the American production.

It's mostly a beauty of a production with some beastly issues that get in the way. I have seen dozens of productions of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST over the years, but rarely if ever have I seen Belle connect with the title Beast. Usually the two come across as distant cousins at best, not a romantic pairing for the ages. Sometimes the rose has more personality than this duo. But finally--FINALLY!--we have a Belle and Beast who connect with the Tarpon Arts' latest production of this classic musical (music by Alan Menken; lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice; and a book by Linda Woolverton, although her name was misspelled on the front cover of the program).

This show, directed by Eric Mansilla with music director Lindy Mack, is an engaging and brilliantly staged production with a talented group of actors who bring their whole hearts to the performance.
