Theatrical licensor Music Theatre International (MTI) announced the celebration of its 70th anniversary. Officially recognized on May 29th, the date former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg declared “Music Theatre International Day” in 2012, MTI is celebrating this milestone throughout the next year by showcasing the incredible talents of theatrical organizations around the world.

Broadway in Indianapolis is proud to announce the 2022-2023 Season celebrating the three Indianapolis premieres of Anastasia, Disney’s Aladdin, and Ain’t Too Proud - The Life and Times of the Temptations. Rounding out the series are three epic return engagements of Hairspray, Les Misérables, and two weeks of Hamilton. 

Producer Michael Urie has announced that Happy Birthday Doug – the comedy written and performed by Drew Droege (the Internet’s “Chloë,” “Drunk History,” “Bob’s Burgers,” RuPaul’s “AJ and the Queen” on Netflix) – will return Off-Broadway for a special Pride weekend engagement for four shows only from June 23-26 at 7:00 PM.

To end its 2021-2022 season, JCC's Centerstage Theatre is currently presenting 'Little Shop of Horrors', the 1982 doo-wop campy masterpiece from the twisted minds of Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, and a stalwart favorite of the late 20th century musical theatre repertoire. Like most 'Little Shop' productions, JCC's is big, wild, whacky, funny, and delightfully macabre.

Music Theater Works shall present 'DISNEY'S THE LITTLE MERMAID' at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie (9501 Skokie Blvd, Skokie, IL 60076) from June 2, 2022 to June 26, 2022 as the second production of the 2022 Season.

The cast ofIntroduced by composer Alan Menken, the cast performed 'Skid Row (Downtown),' 'Feed Me (Git It!),' 'Somewhere That's Green,' 'Dentist!,' and 'Suddenly Seymour.' The concert featured performances by Conrad Ricamora, Tammy Blanchard, Christian Borle, Aaron Arnell Harrington, Stuart Zagnit, Tatiana Lofton, Cristina Raé, and Khadija Sankoh.

While painting the town green in honor of the 40th anniversary of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS’ world premiere in 1982, Tony Award-winning producers Tom Kirdahy, Robert Ahrens and Hunter Arnold have overfed the plants (with an abundance of rain) and will need to postpone the block party originally scheduled for Friday, May 6.
