???????A magical adventure is in store for audiences at Peninsula Players Theatre when its production of "Peter and the Starcatcher" by Rick Elice ("Jersey Boys," "Addams Family") opens July 5.  Based on the novel by humorist David Barry and suspense novelist Ridley Pearson, "Peter and the Starcatcher" is a grown-up's prequel to Peter Pan featuring swashbuckling pirates, mischievous mermaids, spirited seafarers, a trunk full of magic starstuff and the adventures of a nameless orphan boy and his new friend Molly.  This Tony Award-winning play will light up the theatre-in-a-garden with its stardust and transport audiences to a Neverland they never knew through July 23. Pride Films and Plays presents NOMINEE NIGHT 5/23

 Pride Films and Plays will again host its annual Nominee Night cabaret showcasing many of the musical theater performers nominated in the Non-Equity Jeff Awards. The nominees were announced on April 24 and the awards will be presented June 5, 2017 at the Atheneaum Theatre. This year's cabaret will for the first time be performed in the Broadway, Pride Arts Center - the new home the company acquired in summer 2016. The theater is located at 4139 N. Broadway, Chicago. Audience members will have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for a door prize drawing for $400.00 in airfare from Southwest Airlines. (more...)

Boho Theatre Opens 2017 Season with Timely Satire URINETOWN

BoHo Theatre begins its 2017 season with URINETOWN, Mark Hollmann and Greg Kotis' satirical musical about corporate control, political greed, and the call of nature. In 2002, URINETOWN received Tony Awards for Best Book and Best Original Score. The production is directed by BoHo Artistic Associate Stephen Schellhardt. Previously at BoHo, Schellhardt assistant directed last season's FUGITIVE SONGS and choreographed the critically-acclaimed DOGFIGHT (Jeff Award nomination). (more...)

 A massive hit on Broadway, playing over 1,500 hysterical performances seen by more than two million people, Monty Python's SPAMALOT continues Theatre at the Center's exceptional 25th Anniversary Season. The Monty Python-inspired farce of the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year, features a book and lyrics by Eric Idle and a fresh new score created by Eric Idle and John Du Prez. The tale of King Arthur and his band of raunchy knights won the Tony Award for Best Musical, Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical, and Best Direction of a Musical, as well as the Grammy Award in 2006 for Best Musical Show Album.
