Today the New York Comedy Festival (NYCF) announced the addition of more than 100 shows to the 2019 week-long laugh fest. The festival, which runs from November 4th-10th, will be taking place at some of New York City's most iconic venues, including the Beacon Theatre, Carnegie Hall, Carolines on Broadway, Madison Square Garden, Town Hall, and the Tribeca Performing Arts Center among others.

Walton Arts Center's new Mosaix Festival will explore the various cultural tiles that come together to make Northwest Arkansas unique and diverse. Each year, a different culture will be highlighted with a weeklong celebration of that culture's performers and performing arts. The inaugural Mosaix Festival April 20-25, 2020 explores the sights and sounds of India.

Hasan Minhaj came on 'Late Night with Seth Meyers' to share his story about being barred from entering a rally for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Texas and his experience speaking in front of Congress about the student loan debt crisis.

The Tribeca TV Festival will return September 12-15 for its third edition.The lineup is a showcase of new series debuts, new episodes from fan favorites, talks with creators and stars, and one-night-only events that can only be seen at Tribeca. Global content studio Pulse Films has partnered with international journalist Noor Tagouri's At Your Service to produce a new multi-part non-fiction series :In America with Noor. The show, which highlights hot-button domestic issues for international audiences, will be executive produced by Tagouri and At Your Service's Adam Khafif, and Marisa Clifford, Dan Baglio and Thomas Benski, for Pulse Films. The series is heading to market early fall 2019.    

FX today announced the premiere of Peabody Presents: Stories of the Year, a one-hour special event showcasing the critical issues honored at the 78th Annual Peabody Awards Ceremony hosted by Ronan Farrow. The in-depth roundtable discussion, moderated by Hasan Minhaj and recognizing the best of entertainment, documentaries and broadcast journalism, will air July 7 at 10:30 p.m. ETPT on FX.

Today, the Newseum unveiled its newest exhibit, 'Seriously Funny: From the Desk of 'The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.'' This furiously funny exhibit explores the impact Comedy Central's 'The Daily Show with Jon Stewart' had on American politics and the press through four presidential campaigns, two wars and the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. More than 50 artifacts will be on display, highlighting the power of political satire — a form of free speech protected under the First Amendment — and comedy's influence on the news. The exhibit also features an original Newseum-produced film that goes behind the scenes at 'The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.'

A new season of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee is heading to Netflix on July 19, 2019.

Netflix and OWN announced today that the closing night of Netflix's Emmy® FYSEE showcase, featuring a special in-depth conversation hosted by executive producer Oprah Winfrey, with Emmy®-winner Ava DuVernay and the cast of their four-part limited series, When They See Us – will be recorded to premiere on Netflix and OWN, Wednesday June 12 at 10p ET/PT (immediately following the Season Four premiere of DuVernay's critically acclaimed “Queen Sugar” at 9p on OWN). Oprah Winfrey Presents When They See Us Now, will also feature Winfrey's sit down interview with The Exonerated Five men of the Central Park Five 1989 case for the very first time. These conversations, closing out Netflix's immersive FYSEE experience, will take place at Raleigh Studios in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 9th.

Sundance Institute announces six projects selected for the 2019 Sundance Institute New Frontier Story Lab, which supports independent artists working at the cutting-edge convergence of film, art, media, live performance and technology.  The New Frontier Story Lab is a week-long immersive experience that empowers creatives with individual story sessions, conversations about key artistic, design and technology issues and case study presentations from experts in multiple disciplines. Past participants include Roger Ross Williams, Josephine Decker, Silas Howard, Tracy Fullerton, Yung Jake, Chris Milk, Hasan Minhaj, Tommy Pallotta, Amelia Winger-Bearskin, Hank Willis Thomas, Jillian Mayer, Heather Dewey-Hagborg, Navid and Vassiliki Khonsari, A Dandy Punk, and Nicolas Peufaillit.
