The annual Rob Mathes Holiday Concert is back live and in-person this year at The Performing Arts Center at Purchase College. Two shows will be presented on Friday, December 16, and Saturday, December 17, at 8:00 p.m.

The Dallas Children’s Theater (DCT) 2022-2023 Season dashes into the holidays with famous jazz artist Harry Connick Jr.’s THE HAPPY ELF running November 27 thru December 23.

From November 1 through 13, Birdland Jazz Club will present a variety of programming including Django Reinhardt NY Festival, Nicole Zuraitis, Alexis Cole, Peter Cincotti and The Purchase Latin Jazz Orchestra Directed by David DeJesus. 

The Fulton Theatre has announced complete casting of their holiday production of Irving Berlin's White Christmas. Will Ray (Bob Wallace) and Hanley Smith (Betty Haynes) join forces once again.

An Iowa holiday staple is set to return later this year, following a pandemic-related hiatus since 2019, with a statewide concert series, “Christmas with Jim McDonough and His Orchestra: The 20th Anniversary Tour.” 

Directed by Sascha Just, Ellis will have its World Premiere at DOC NYC on November 10, 2022. Ellis is based on the life and times of pianist Ellis Marsalis Jr.

State Theatre New Jersey, fully renovated in 2021, announced its 2022-23 Classical Series featuring three world-renowned international orchestras. The Classical Series includes the Concerto Budapest Symphony Orchestra on January 14, Lviv National Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukraine on February 17, and Daniel Hope – Zurich Chamber Orchestra on March 21.

NBC's Annie LIVE! has won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Hairstyling for a Variety, Nonfiction or Reality Program. The Emmy was awarded to Mia Neal, the Department Head Hairstylist, and Leah Loukas, the Assistant Department Head Hairstylist. Annie LIVE! starred Celina Smith, Taraji P. Henson, Harry Connick Jr., Tituss Burgess, and more.

What did our critic think of SWEAT at Guthrie Theatre?

Singer/tapper Luke Hawkins brought an extraordinary evening of singing, dancing and laughter to the Birdland Theater on Monday, June 20.  The show was a love letter to these art forms, as Luke paid homage to the history of tap dance greats. Check out photos here!

BIRDLAND JAZZ CLUB will present Tony Award winner Linda Lavin in a special concert celebrating her most recent solo album, Love Notes, on Monday, June 27 at 7:00 PM. Ms. Lavin will be joined on stage (as on the album) by her longtime collaborator, pianist and singer Billy Stritch.
