Seattle Shakespeare Company has announced a full slate of shows for their 2023-2024 season. Along with programming selections, they have announced reduced prices for almost all single tickets for the upcoming season.

Rehearsals began yesterday for Seattle Shakespeare Company's fall production of Macbeth, which runs from October 25 to November 20.

Seattle Shakespeare Company shared changes to their previously announced 2022-2023 season, swapping out the first two shows.

The 2022-2023 season launches in October with William Shakespeare's Othello directed by Reginald André Jackson. Shakespeare's play follows a racist master manipulator as he deceives a military leader into believing his wife has been unfaithful.

 Seattle Shakespeare Company's free Wooden O productions for this summer will be A Midsummer Night's Dream and Cymbeline.

After two years since audiences stepped into the Center Theatre, Seattle Shakespeare is welcoming them back with rotating repertory showpiece. Shakespeare: Drum and Colours is a pairing of Hamlet and As You Like It that features an all-POC company performing both shows.  Lamar Legend will direct As You Like It and Juan A Mas will direct Hamlet.

Seattle Shakespeare Company announced plans to return to indoor performance with a series of productions.  Shakespeare: Drum and Colours, an ambitious, alternating repertory of two Shakespeare classics pared to their essence and featuring an all-POC company, will perform in late winter 2022.

Today Seattle Shakespeare Company announced that due to the ongoing public health crisis, it will cancel all its live productions planned for the theatre’s 30th Anniversary season.  The canceled productions of Volpone and Much Ado About Nothing join the previously announced cancelations of Richard II and Long Day’s Journey into Night.

The fall production of Volpone will move to spring 2021 to join a previously scheduled production of Much Ado About Nothing.

With its summer Wooden O park productions canceled for 2020 due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Seattle Shakespeare Company is launching O, Wonder! a?" A Seattle Shakespeare Interactive Adventure on Thursday, July 9 at 8:00 a.m. The game will run through August 9 and will include raffle prizes and awards for participation.

Today Seattle Shakespeare Company's Artistic Director George Mount announced that the company is canceling the Wooden O shows for the summer of 2020. The theatre is also cancelling its May special presentation of Stephan Wolfert's Cry Havoc!  

To celebrate William Shakespeare's birthday week, Seattle Shakespeare will host a FREE live stream reading of Romeo and Juliet with the cast of the company's spring touring production.

Highlights include a comedy by a Shakespeare contemporary, the return of upstart crow collective to the Seattle Shakespeare stage, a 20th Century American classic, and the beloved bickering of Beatrice and Benedick.

Classic characters from Homer's The Iliad a?" Hector, Ulysses, Achilles, Ajax, Helen a?" leap to life with the help of Shakespeare's imagination to reveal the follies of war in Troilus and Cressida at Seattle Shakespeare Company. David Quicksall directs the production which begins previews on March 17, opens March 20, and runs through April 12 in the Center Theatre at Seattle Center.

Seattle Shakespeare Company's free Wooden O productions for this summer will be The Comedy of Errors and Othello. Both shows will start performances on July 9 and will perform in park venues throughout the region through August 9. (please see attached schedule). Two summer Shakespeare veterans will make their Wooden O directing debuts.  Crystal Dawn Munkers will direct The Comedy of Errors and Reginald André Jackson will direct Othello.

While viewing the opening night of Seattle Shakespeare Company's production of Richard Brinsley Sheridan's a?oeThe Rivalsa??, one old adage kept springing to mind. a?oeThrow it against the wall and see if it sticks.a?? Well, aside from a few standout performances, not much stuck. But that wasn't from lack of trying as director George Mount seemed to throw everything but the kitchen sink at that wall whether it fit within the play or not.

Duels, dandies, deceptions, and dudes with daddy issues stir up a comic frenzy in Richard Brinsley Sheridan's witty gem The Rivals at Seattle Shakespeare Company. George Mount directs the production which begins previews on Jan. 7, opens Jan. 10 and runs through Feb. 2 at the Center Theatre at Seattle Center.
