Harris Center Welcomes Susan Stamberg In CONSIDERING ALL THINGS

In the second event of the Folsom Lake College Speakers Series, the Harris Center welcomes Susan Stamberg to the podium. The nationally renowned broadcast journalist is a Special Correspondent for National Public Radio. She was the first woman to anchor a national nightly news program, she has won every major award in broadcasting, and she has been inducted into both the Broadcasting and Radio Hall(s) of Fame. Charismatic and insightful, Susan Stamberg is well-known for her conversational style, intelligence, and knack for finding the interesting story.

The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and TV's Fred Rogers had two things in common-they prioritized the beloved community, that we should all have the opportunity to be seen and heard by our neighbors regardless of identity affiliation; chosen or not. In this spirit of kindness and compassion, the Faith Always Wins Foundation (FAWF) and the Kansas City Interfaith Youth Alliance (KCIYA) are co-hosting a free screening of the documentary film 'Won't You Be My Neighbor' for high-school age students. The showing will take place on Martin Luther King Day, Monday, Jan. 21. The free film will be shown at AMC 20 Town Center followed by a panel discussion led by members of KCIYA's Leadership Team. Doors open at 4 p.m.; the film will begin at 4:30 p.m. with the program concluding by 7 p.m.
