by Marc Savitt
- Jul 23, 2024
At a time when headlines are ominous, dew points are uncomfortable if not oppressive, and very little is what it appears to be on the surface, a lighthearted romp, fraught with silliness and laughter seems very appropriate. BOEING BOEING continues on the Boyd-Quinson Stage at Barrington Stage Company in Pittsfield through August 3

It all starts with an old-fashioned welcome drink. I mean real old school, from 70 years ago. Vodka, lard spread on bread, and fermented cucumber in a vintage bar with all the newspapers and old songs performed. You're starting to get in the mood!

Twelfth Night: It marks the end of Christmas and in Shakespeare’s day it was celebrated with great festivity—cakes and ale, wassailing and singing, merriment abounding. A very good time was had by all.

Review: A TENDER THING at Barrington Stage Company
by Marc Savitt
- Jul 1, 2024
The production stars Derek Smith as Romeo and Candy Buckley as Juliet, both of whom are skilled and strong performers. Adept with their characterizations as well as the Shakespearian dialogue. Their embodiment of characters conceived by Shakespeare as teens, but as mature adults is remarkable. They do so completely, and in every conceivable way.
