Sunday Brunch, a new musical featuring 'Stuck a.k.a. the Cult Song' will present a concert at the Laurie Beechman Theatre, starring Lauren Singerman and Gabrielle Filloux.

Theatre Now will host a special Industry Night specifically for musical theatre composers on Monday, May 19th at 6:30pm featuring a workshop on Dorico, the music notation and composition software.

The BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop presented top works during two seatings at this year’s fall showcase on Thursday, October 24 at The Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater in New York City. See photos from the event.

American Opera Projects has announced The Hudson Guild Operas, a live performance of twelve fifteen-minute World Premiere operas.

Theatre Now New York has selected 10 finalists to be presented in its SOUND BITES ELEVEN Festival of 10-Minute Musicals. The festival will take place on May 6th at 7pm at Merkin Hall at Kaufman Music Center.

The next generation of songwriters is busy working and took a night off to play and sing at The Green Room 42 on February 3rd. A full room of supportive music appreciators heard some new musical theatre-style material based on assignments like 'Imagine Blanche DuBois singing' or 'write a love song without the word 'love.''

54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, will present Sunday Brunch, a new musical by Ernie Bird & Rachel Aberman. This comedic new musical about a Sunday brunch gone wrong examines the anxiety of one of life's biggest transitions.

This week, on Friday, February 24th, on the anniversary of the Russian invasion, Ukrainian-born theatre writer and composer Ernie Bird will present a 30-minute excerpt of his new musical, The Ukrainian War Diary.

Theatre Now New York, a non-profit artist service organization and theatre company dedicated to supporting musical theatre writers, is kicking off their 10th year with a celebration at The Players on Monday, November 14th at 6:30pm.

Pompeii Rising, a new musical by Henco Espag, Andi Lee Carter, and Briana Harris set against the backdrop of the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, will present a concert of songs at Judson Memorial Church at 7:30pm on Wednesday August 24th, the anniversary of the historic eruption.

The Jury is a new musical with book & lyrics by Casey Kendall and music by Jonathan Bauerfeld. It tells the story of Tess Butler, who has died after a short lifetime of battling opiate addiction and burning bridges. Now, it is up to seven people from her life to come together and decide whether or not she's worth saving.

Duo cabaret performer Emily Kay went solo last night and the cabaret industry needs to make way for this up and comer because she is taking off.

This week, on Thursday, August 19th, at 9 pm, THE PLAYERS CLUB, a historic club founded by Edwin Booth, will present Ernie Bird: A Composer's Night. The first concert dedicated to Ernie Bird's music, and his life as a theatre composer, will include songs from the musicals he composed for.

This past Monday’s Cast Party – the weekly open mic/variety show that has been in residence at Birdland every Monday for eighteen years was yet another celebration of fantastic talent!  Host Jim Caruso, along with Billy Stritch on piano, Steve Doyle on bass and Daniel Glass on the drums introduced dozens of singers – young and old, up-and-comers and established – to the packed house.
