Will Friedwald’s Clip Joint presented the legendary film critic and personality “Rex Reed Remembers Polly Bergen” last night at the Triad Theater.  

At first glance they might seem like a musical and personality mismatch, but the chemistry between Liz Callaway and Jason Graae is far from problematic.  It is an enormously entertaining integration of these two artists musicianship, acting, and comedic expertise.

It’s not my photography skills, nor the lighting, camera or lens that make these photos taken last night of Christine Andreas appear to be similar to the ones I shot 10 years ago. Madame Andreas (who speaks lots of French during her show aat 54 Below) has found the secret of ageless, timeless beauty.

I had no idea that 54 DOES 54 has been an annual event for many years, but I am so glad I was there on Sunday night to witness the range of talents and the performances from so many of the staff of the club and personnel from the offices upstairs of 54 Below.

Fast-rising vocalist Jimmie Herrod made his New York City solo show debut at 54 Below on last night on May 24th. Jimmie’s tonal dexterity, vocal chords that have no limits, and imaginative jazz interpretations of Broadway and Pop standards thrilled a room full of music lovers, with special guest Alex Boniello (Dear Evan Hansen).

Cabaret luminaries, supporters, and officers of The Mabel Mercer Foundation gathered at The Pierre Hotel last night to celebrate the100th anniversary of the birth year of cabaret legend Julie Wilson.  Check out photos here!
