Legendary actor, activist and philanthropist Ed Asner passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, surrounded by family at 91.

The Sauk, Hillsdale County's community theatre, has announced four productions to complete the 2021 season. The season continues August 12-15 and 19-22 with the Tony Award-winning 'Peter and the Starcatcher.'

I have the delightful pleasure of talking to Ed, not only on ANOTHER GIN GAME, but on highlights of his incredibly long-lasting acting career. When I tried to thank him for all the previous times he’s graciously posed for my camera and chatted with me at various charity events, he playfully deflected with, “But I’m a son of a bitch now!”

This year’s festival will bring a hybrid of selected live events and screenings along with the virtual screening of 300+ films that include an incredible variety of feature and short length dramas, thrillers, comedies, documentaries, student films, foreign films, videos and web series, music, and more!

The production, which will premiere on Guild Hall's YouTube channel on Sunday, March 28 at 7:30pm EST, is directed by Bob Balaban and features a multi-award-winning cast including Jessica Hecht, Marc Kudisch, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, Ben Shenkman, and Harris Yulin.

The first reading is Heartbreak House by George Bernard Shaw and directed by Richard Ouzounian to be streamed on April 7, 2021 at 7pm.  This this one-time event will star Tony Award winner Len Cariou, best known for his portrayal of 'Sweeney Todd' in the original cast of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and Film, Television and Stage icon Ed Asner.

RAIN BEAU'S END is an intimate lesbian family-drama situated in the late 1990s, depicting how the labelling of their adopted son affects a progressive lesbian couple's relationship as they struggle to raise their family in the spotlight.

Vaynberg's new solo piece is presented to benefit United Solo following its first reading with 14th Street Y and Downtown Jewish Life's TIKKUN: Into the Night. This piece has been developed and directed by Natasha Warner.
