On April 29 at 7 PM, at the historic and exquisite Church of the Transfiguration, an impressive roster of cabaret celebrities will gather together to celebrate and support the upcoming production of a powerful new off-Broadway play, In the Closet. Offering up selections from their vast repertoires, KT Sullivan, Jeff Harnar, Marieann Meringolo, Billy Stritch, Jon Weber, Eugene Ebner and Doris Dear will, in turn, entertain and enthrall the attendees. The audience will also receive a special glimpse of the new theatrical event as the playwright Siegmund Fuchs introduces actor Paul Page performing a monologue from the work.

The character of Doris Dear that Ray DeForest created 4 years ago, was inspired by his mother, Taffy, who passed away from Alzheimer's. With this year's show being performed over 3 evenings, it was time to give back, and what better partner than The Alzheimer's Association. A portion of the show's proceeds will benefit the Alzheimer's Association, New York City Chapter's Longest Day campaign.

The sold out house at Don't Tell Mama's for 'Mama's Next Big Act' was treated to some amazing talent. The theme was 'Disney' and each contestant gave their best 'Mouseketeer' along with another song of their choosing.
Get those wigs and sparkly outfits ready, Doris Dear will be the celebrity guest judge for Tuesday's edition on "Mama's Next Big Act" at Don't Tell Mama's! Each week contestants sing their hearts out and a panel of judges, hosted by Lennie Watts, decides who goes on to the next level and continues on to win the grand prize of $1500 to put toward a new show at Don't Tell Mama's and A CROCK POT, Doris Dear's favorite appliance! Tuesday night the Top 8 will be competing for 5 positions. Each singer has been given a theme and will sing their hearts out.
