Theatre Arlington's 47th season has something for everyone! Executive Producer, Steven D. Morris, is thrilled to announce the line-up for the 2019-2020 season. There will be great musical comedies, a fun new holiday show, wonderful family-friendly children's programming and classic plays that need to be seen again. This season Theatre Arlington will continue to work hard to improve the patron's experience and the quality of every production. The Theatre is excited to announce that they will be hiring more professional Equity actors in each production as well as skilled designers and talented live musicians. That's not all Morris is happy to announce - this season will be the inaugural year for a new Cabaret Series which will bring the metroplex's best singers and musicians to Theatre Arlington to perform in an intimate environment.  If it has been awhile since you've visited downtown Arlington, now is the time to find your way and come home to Theatre Arlington!

The Keegan Theatre presents David Lindsay-Abaire's heartwarming and hilarious comedy RIPCORD, making its regional premiere on June 15, 2019 at The Andrew Keegan Theatre in Washington, DC, with the press opening slated for June 18.

Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere of Continuity, the new play by Lortel and Drama Desk Award nominee Bess Wohl (Small Mouth Sounds, American Hero) and directed by Tony Award nominee Rachel Chavkin (Hadestown; Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812), opens tomorrow night at The Studio at Stage II - Harold and Mimi Steinberg New Play Series at New York City Center (131 W. 55th Street).

This past week, two-time Tony Award winner and Broadway's next Marian the Librarian, Sutton Foster, received an honorary doctorate of music from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee and spoke at the school's commencement ceremony for the graduating class of 2019. Check out the full video below!

A deep look into who we are, and what we will do to survive those times, David Lindsay-Abaire's 2011 play Good People explores all of that and more.

"Stranger Things" star David Harbour (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, The Coast of Utopia) meets his match in Tony nominee Steven Boyer (Hand to God, NBC's "Trial & Error"). Their live recording of David Auburn's AN UPSET, directed by Michael Wilson, celebrates Playing on Air's 100th podcast episode.

The Hendersonville Performing Arts Company will present Shrek the Musical running May 23rd through June 9th with performances on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 7:30 and Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00.

The Queens Theatre may cause a stir when it premieres Relic, or, I Was Bubbie's Favorite by Joel Feinman (as told to Lojo Simon), an outrageous new comedy by playwright Lojo Simon and directed by Will Pomerantz, that explores the cult of celebrity, religion and idolatry in modern times. The play, set in the Queens neighborhood of Rego Park, revolves around an out-of-work actor who finds what purports to be the world's greatest relic in his grandmother's attic, offering him the fame and fortune he always sought. He discovers, however, that it may not be all he wants! Performances will be held Friday, May 10th through Sunday, May 19th (Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays).

David Lindsay-Abaire's RABBIT HOLE presents a middle-class family's experience with the death of a child in a somewhat staid and reserved expression middle class America, albeit with Australia voices.

OPENING! Columbia Children's Theatre presents THE THREE LITTLE PIGS with music by George Stiles and book and lyrics by Anthony Drewe. The production is directed by Paul Lindley II with choreography by Lisa Sendler and stars an ensemble cast. THE THREE LITTLE PIGS opens Saturday, April 20 and runs through Sunday, April 28. An Other Theater Company, known for producing work outside of the regular faire in Utah County, has announced their third season, keeping with their mandate to produce work by and about women and the LGBTQ+ community.

It was just announced by Pulitzer Prize Administrator Dana Canedy that Jackie Sibblies Drury's Fairview has officially won the 2019 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Two-time Tony-winning actress, singer and dancer Sutton Foster extends her Cafe Carlyle run, June 25-29. She'll also be performing June 11-22. At Cafe Carlyle, she'll perform Broadway favorites and original recordings, focusing on selections from her new album, Take Me to the World, and stories of how being a mother of a two-year-old has informed her work and changed her life.

Today, April 15 (3pm EST), Pulitzer Prize Administrator Dana Canedy will announce the winners of the the 2019 Pulitzer Prizes, including the finalists and winners for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. PATABS (Pennsylvania Theatrical Arts by Brittany Stevens) will be presenting 'SHREK, THE MUSICAL' at the Eichelberger Performing Arts Center in Hanover, PA this May. This is the second time in the last 5 years that the performing arts studio will be presenting this 'bigger than life' musical. When asked 'why do the show again', director of both the musical and the studio, Stevens said that she 'was excited to have this opportunity to bring these bigger than life characters to the stage at the Eichelberger'.
