3-D Theatricals concludes its 10th Anniversary season with the Tony Award-winning musical comedy, SHREK The Musical, directed and choreographed by David F.M. Vaughn. SHREK The Musical, featuring music by Tony Award-winner Jeanine Tesori, and book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize-winner David Lindsay-Abaire, will play August 9-25, 2019 at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts

Rabbit Hole, written by David Lindsay-Abaire, tells the story of a mother and father stricken with unending grief after the accidental death of their four year old son; theirs is a reality that isn't fair or deserved, but must simply be dealt with. With this play,Lindsay-Abaire carefully deconstructs the overall larger picture of 'grief' into smaller moments, bringing to light how each of those involved finds solace in their own way. And as emotional a ride Rabbit Hole brings the audience on, we somehow begin to understand how people cope with something that can never be explained - only accepted until the pain isn't as great as it used to be.

Australia's leading theatre producer John Frost today announced that the Broadway smash hit SHREK THE MUSICAL is coming to Australia. This lavish and fun multi-million dollar musical will open at the Sydney Lyric Theatre, The Star in early January 2020, followed by seasons at Her Majesty's Theatre, Melbourne and the Lyric Theatre, Brisbane.

Newly anointed Tony winner Andre De Shields capped off the theater award season by receiving the 2019 Richard Seff Award at Equity's Eastern Regional Board meeting on June 11th at Equity's office in New York.

A man of many voices and talents (you may not readily recognize by voice - he has so many), Alan Tudyk will be mounting the Geffen stage, undertaking dual roles in Michael Mitnick's MYSTERIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES. Under the direction of Geffen Playhouse artistic director Matt Shakman, previews for MYSTERIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES began June 11, with an opening night set for June 19, 2019. The Actors' Equity Foundation  presented its annual veteran actor award (Richard Seff Award) and breakout performer award (Clarence Derwent Award) at the Actors' Equity Association's Eastern Regional Board meeting today.

THE WHITE DRESS, written by Roger Q. Mason and directed and choreographed by Adin Walker will have a limited engagement Summer run, July 5-20 at the Access Theater, 380 Broadway. Based on the playwright's true-life experience, this is a genderqueer coming-of-age tale for the they/them generation.

Bergen County Players, one of America's longest-running little theater companies, will conclude its successful 86th season with a limited engagement of Murray Schisgal's one-act comedy drama The Typists. The Players Centre for Performing Arts concluded its Players Kids' Season with a hilarious production of Shrek Jr. This show was a prime example of the exceptional young talent that exists in our community. It is a marvelous thing to be able to go see a production of all young people and not be disappointed. Shrek Jr. certainly achieves this.

Emmy winner Carol Kane (Netflix's "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," Wicked, The Princess Bride) and Tony nominee Jeremy Shamos (Clybourne Park, Meteor Shower) star in Lily Akerman's mischievous and heartbreaking short play, HEDGEHOG YEARS, the second place winner of Playing on Air's 2018 James Stevenson Prize. Directed by Tony winner Judith Ivey, the episode will debut on the Playing on Air podcast this Sunday, May 26th.
