Manhattan Theatre Club announces the lineup for the 2019 Ted Snowdon Reading Series.

Based on the Oscar-winning animation film, Shrek The Musical is the Tony Award-winning adventure-filled musical playing at Cedar Creek High School,February 28th through March 2nd.

2Cents Theatre Group is set to kick off its 2019 site-specific season with a unique production of David Lindsay-Abaire's Rabbit Hole, a stunning journey through grief, the search for comfort, and the rebirth of hope. Under the direction of 2Cents artistic director Kristen Boul , there will be one preview performance on Friday, February 8, at 8pm, and opening is set for Today, February 9, at 8pm. The engagement will run through March 10 only.

Casting Complete for A Classic Theatre's production of RIPCORD St. Augustine, FL- A talented cast of 6 actors will be featured in A Classic Theatre's production of David Lindsay-Abaire's hilarious new comedy, Ripcord. It's a battle of wits between two feisty roommates at an assisted living facility with nothing in common but a rivalry to make Bette Davis and Joan Crawford look like amateurs.

Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) have just announced three productions slated for Manhattan Theatre Club's upcoming 2019-2020 season.

Rabbit Hole centers on the accidental death of a young child and how his death affects five individuals. This play is not your typical Lifetime movie of the week and it's not supposed to be; thank God! Playwright David Lindsay-Abaire, who won a Pulitzer prize for this play, captures the honesty of the grieving process and examines multiple perspectives of how one copes with grief. Through Lindsay-Abaire's lyrical dialogue, the audience learns that it's ok to laugh, cry & remain spirited and resilient when dealing with grief. What's important is that you have to be able to move on, no matter how tragic the loss.

ELECTRIC MOON THEATRE COMPANY and CITY YOUTH PLAYERS announce their first co-production with the highly anticipated SHREK THE MUSICAL. Based on the Oscar-Winning DreamWorks Animation film, SHREK, is a Tony Award-Winning Musical Fairy Tale adventure recommended for children ages 6 and up.

The chemistry of the leads, along with the support of the terrific cast, makes Ripcord a delight to watch from beginning to end. As Meyers fittingly mentions in her director's notes, 'If you have the right people in the room and a great script…the rest of a director's job is simply guidance...I am delighted with every converging aspect of Ripcord.' Starting January 31st Elm Street Cultural Arts Village gets the "Once upon a time" treatment with the opening night of Shrek Jr., a ferociously funny and fresh musical based on the hit Dreamworks film and picture book of the same name. Presented by Kragor Orthodontics, Shrek Jr. tells the story of an ogre who takes on a larger than life adventure to reclaim his swamp, meeting a fast-talking donkey, a fiery princess, and a slew of fairy tale creatures along the way.

Announced today, Playing on Air's Winter/Spring 2019 season will include work by playwrights Gracie Gardner and Chiara Atik. Two-time Tony-winning actress, singer and dancer Sutton Foster returns to Cafe Carlyle, June 11-22. Veteran comedy screenwriting partners Lowell Ganz & Babaloo Mandel, known for such acclaimed box-office hits as Splash and Parenthood, have been named the recipients of the Writers Guild of America West's 2019 Laurel Award for Screenwriting Achievement, presented to Guild members who have “advanced the literature of motion pictures and made outstanding contributions to the profession of the screenwriter.”
